    Absolutely if you are out of the area.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    An informal meeting where we get to meet each other and ask each other questions and begin to get to know each other. We are always happy to show off our facility and introduce you to the key personnel of the dealership.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    We do perform a background check and drug screening. We only check for illegal substances and do understand hat things happen in life sometimes.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    No we do not.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    We are very flexible in the timeline from interview to hire and will work with you weather you are in a hurry or need a little more time. All decisions will be communicated in a timely manner

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    The 30 bay shop is heated and cooled.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    The team consists of 10 main line techs, 3 apprentices, 6 lube techs and 5 Service Advisors.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    The service department hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 to 5:00 and Saturdays 8:00 - 4:00 on a rotating schedule. Currently main line techs work every 5th Saturday.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    All manufacture required tools and select specialty tools as needed. Every tech is issued a micro pod for use with witech. All data is used for customer pay labor times and other manufacture repairs.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Beings that we are in Prescott and it is always so nice outside we have a covered outside break area with picnic tables and a built in BBQ grill. We also have two indoor break rooms with refrigerators, microwaves, toaster oven, ice machine, sinks and tables.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    The shop is 30 bays with 4 for express, one for alignment and one for the Auto Butler polisher. There is also a community 30,000lb. drive on for the larger vehicles that we service.

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    The shop averages 800 - 900 customer pay repair orders and 300 - 400 warranty repair orders per month.

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Technicians order parts the the parts request function in CDK.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Side work is not allowed in the shop. Technicians are able to work on their own vehicle on their own time with a repair order written on the vehicle.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    Did mention that it is in Prescott, Arizona!

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Continues learning thru manufacture training and reimbursement for passed ASE certifications and re-certifications.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Due to the size of the dealership opportunities do arise to move into any of the different positions available including shop foreman and service management.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    There is not a formal performance review. Raises are based on training, tenure and merit.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    We do monthly in-house safety training and bi-annual training from our loss prevention company.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Tech are encouraged to work with the younger techs. An official apprenticeship is arranged as needed and includes override pay on future flagged hours from the apprentice.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    The company sponsors events, groups and teams as the General Manager sees fit.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    In life before COVID we were actively involved in the local community college and high school vocation programs and hope to be again someday soon when meetings can resume.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    I see the shop expanding in the near future and we continue to have more vehicles needing service and repair than our current shop can handle.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    This is something that is totally in your hands as there is no shortage of opportunities as York DCJR and Zamora automotive continue to grow and expand.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year ($28.85 - $48.08/hr)
    ($28.85 - $48.08/hr)

    A level technicians are paid flat rate and will be level 3 trained in at lease 6 of the 8 skill categories. Extra compensation available for diesel technicians and transmission technicians. ASE certification and technician experience will be considered as well.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $60,000/year ($24.04 - $28.85/hr)

    B level technicians are paid flat rate and will be level 1 in all 8 skill categories with a lot of level 2 training completed. ASE certification and technician experience will be considered as well.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $35,000 - $50,000/year ($16.83 - $24.04/hr)
    ($16.83 - $24.04/hr)

    C level technicians can be paid flat rate of hourly/bonus depending on abilities and your comfort level with the flat rate system. Training required to be level 1 in all 8 categories. ASE certification and technician experience will be considered as well.

  • Lube Technician
    Pay Range: $27,000 - $35,000/year ($12.98 - $16.83/hr)
    ($12.98 - $16.83/hr)

    Lube technicians are paid hourly and required to complete level 0 training. This training can be completed on the job and is not required to qualify for employment.

  • Service Advisor
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year

    Service Advisors are a salary and commission based pay.

  • Student Tech / Apprentice
    Pay Range: $13 - $18/hour

    This will be similar to the lube tech for employees that have proven themselves and desire to be a technician.
