Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    We have each potential employee fill out and back ground authorization and application that will take about 10 minutes after sitting down with the hiring manager.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    We can do over the phone interviews but would prefer to sit down in person with candidate.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    In person interviews entail speaking about us as a dealership a tour of the shop. we will go in to the candidates back ground and qualifications and training.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    We do perform background checks before hiring and check the candidates MVR to make sure they are insurable.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    Skills assessments are not required.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Usually with in a weeks time we will have the background and MVR check back and will be able to make a decision at that time on the candidate

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    Usually a week or less

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Each bay has over head radiant heat and the shop has multiple swamp coolers that will freeze you out in the summer time.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    We currently have five master techs and three apprentice techs, one pdi tech and five express techs.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    The service department is open from: 7am - 6pm Monday-Friday Saturdays 8:00am - 3:00 pm Technicians rotate every third Saturday (only one Saturday a month!)

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    We have all VW required factory tools and own dedicated tool room with logged tool cabinets that are all up to date. we also have a tire room dedicated just for doing tires.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    The techs have their own break room with tables a couch fridge and microwave.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    We have 16 racks and one alignment rack.

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    On average we write 1,000 to 1,200 repair orders per month and have the business to do more but cant with out more technicians. We are currently scheduled two weeks out!

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    All parts request are sent through Dealerlogix after parts and the tech have added there parts pricing and notes it is sent to the service advisor who will deliver the estimate to the customer who can authorize the repairs with a click of a button. from there the advisor will be alerted along with the technician and parts counter agent who will then order the parts.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    We do not allow side work. I do allow techs to work on their own vehicles after hours with an open repair order and authorization from the manager.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    We do BBQ 'S During the summer as a show of appreciation for all your hard work. I will also reward the shop with breakfast. we offer a discount on parts for employees as well. We have also replaced all shop lights with LED lights to help make all bays brighter.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    We offer online and factory VW training at the VW training center here in Denver

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    We give raises when factory training is completed and is reviewed once a year.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    When giving a performance review we look at training and fixed right the first time numbers to evaluate performance.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    We have a safety company that comes in once a quarter that will evaluate the shop for safe work environment and checks all equipment to make sure it is safe and operational. The safety company also provides lift training , MSDS training, along with online safety compliance training.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    We have three senior techs who mentor /train our younger techs till they go on the line on their own. All of our senior techs are willing to help our younger techs out on a job if they are stuck. We do have a shop foreman who is always there to help with vehicles that are difficult to repair, We also utilize tech line to help Diagnose vehicles and have a area engineer that will come to the dealership to help diagnose vehicles that are hard to repair.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We support Toy drives during the holiday season. Along with many donations to churches, The Tynans Family is very involved with the church.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    As the service manager I am on the advisory board for surrounding tech schools

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    My vision for the VW shop is to be the Biggest and Highest producing shop in the area we want to be the best in all categories from CSI (customer service scores) to shop production

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $55,000 - $120,000/year

    We offer production bonuses after 3 months so we can determine your daily average.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $35,000 - $50,000/year

    being a B level tech you can work your way up in pay rate by gaining hands on experience and factory training we will pay for

  • Lube Technician
    Pay Range: $31,200 - $35,350/year ($15.00 - $17.00/hr)
    ($15.00 - $17.00/hr)

    Pay rate it based off of work experience in the field and education level through a tech school. $15-$17 per hour

Health Insurance Offered We offer multiple levels of insurance coverage to fit the needs of all our employees though Kaiser Permanente. Health insurance is active after 60 days
Dental Insurance Offered Dental coverage is active after 60 day's
Vision Insurance Offered Vision insurance is active after 60 days
Retirement Plan Offered Retirement plans will be offered after one year of service
Sick Leave Not Offered
Vacation Offered Paid vacation starts after one year of service (one week after one year ) (two weeks after two years of service )
Paid Holidays Offered Holidays are paid after 120 days of service
ST / LT Disability Offered Disability is included with certain levels of health insurance coverage.

Uniforms Offered Uniforms are provided though Cintas uniform company.
