Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Very general general application that takes about 15 minutes to fill out.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Phone screens are done to make sure we are all on the same page. Discussion includes position openings, and light conversation. We definitely would prefer to do in-person interviews.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    Service manager conducts the interview. We will dive into the candidates experience and background, likes and dislikes, what their goals are and how we can help achieve them.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Background check, and driving record check conducted.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    No formal skills assessment. The majority of their skill set is discussed through the interview process.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Depends on how quickly the positions need to be filled. Usually in a day or two.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    This hinges on the candidate. If they have to give a two week notice at their current employer, and how long it takes to get them in for their drug test.

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Shop is heated.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    8 full time techs, and some apprentices 3 Service Advisors 2 parts counter employees 1 parts manager

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    7:30am.-4:30pm., 8:00am.-5:00pm. (Monday-Saturday), 5 day work weeks.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    Shop toolbox provided, Toyota OEM tools, all major tools provided.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Fridge, microwave, table, chairs, coffee maker, TV

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    15

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    Over 1,000 including internal work

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    All parts are ordered electronically through our computer system. Technician will do the initial inspection and order parts needed for repairs. That is then sent to one of the service advisors to review, and then parts will be ordered. If we do not have the parts on hand, we will get them as soon as possible.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    On personal and family vehicles with managers approval.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    We provide onsite trainings for all levels of our technicians. There are also Toyota training programs for technicians who want to attend throughout the year, and cost in some circumstance may be covered by the dealership. Toyota trainings are paid for when specific Toyota certifications are obtained. We also provide reimbursement for ASE's upon completion.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    For entry level technicians there is a career path set up including their training schedule. We will train our technicians from an entry level to master technicians. With more experienced technicians we will pick up where they left off in training, and help them continue their education and skill set.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    We run 90 day reviews, and annual reviews. If trainings are completed in between we can set up reviews sooner. We will discuss performance, where they are in their training, and what they are looking for going forward.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    We participate in the SAFE program online safety courses.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    When staff and time permits we will pair up a shop foreman with an entry level technician. They will work through repairs together, and the foreman will answer any additional questions.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    Local football program sponsorship

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Relationship with our local high school, and tech school. Always looking to expand on our relationships when possible.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We are always looking to grow our technician team, and put motivated, hard working people around us. With our team growth we also strive to increase our client book as well. Continue to bring in our loyal customers and always look to add new ones.

    Pay Range: $50,000 - $90,000/year

    Pay Range: $35,000 - $45,000/year

    Pay Range: $25,000 - $35,000/year

  • Service Advisor
    Pay Range: $40,000 - $70,000/year

  • Service Manager
