Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    No formal application form but we do accept standard resumes. Decisions are normally made in a couple of days after checking references.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    No. We will interview either way.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    Talk with the Owner, meet the team and tour the shop. We like to make sure that you think it's a fit for you as well.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Must have a good driving record. We also have an alcohol and drug free policy while on site.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    Skills are assessed during the interview process.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Once references are checked, we will get back to you within a couple of days.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    A few days.

    During this process, we are completely up front and honest about what we bring to the table. We expect the same from applicants.

    The shop is heated.

    The Owner, 2 Technicians and a Trainee.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday. WEEKENDS OFF!!

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    A/C Equipment, 4 Different Scan Tools, Lifts and general shop tools/equipment.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    A small, upstairs break room.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    6 Bays. 5 hoists and a flat stall.

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    160

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Service Writer handles parts orders.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Can use the facility if it's employee or employees family's car.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Yes. Pay for ongoing education and for ASE tests as they are passed.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    We've got Master Certified Techs that help a Technician grow their skills.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Currently developing a process as we speak.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Company policies are being developed.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    The veteran Techs make themselves available to less experienced Techs whenever needed.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    Donations to various causes.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Local school does not have an automotive program but we do have a trainee currently from the local High School.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    Continue growing the company to serve the community and our employees in a greater way.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $55,000 - $100,000/year ($26.44 - $48.08/hr)
    ($26.44 - $48.08/hr)

    We pay on an hourly or flat rate basis, and based on experience. We consider an A Level Tech to be an advanced Technician that can complete diagnostic procedures along with repairs.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $75,000/year ($24.04 - $36.06/hr)
    ($24.04 - $36.06/hr)

    We pay on an hourly or flat rate basis, and based on experience. Able to do most repairs and have the ability to diagnose electronics and intermittent problems.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $40,000 - $50,000/year ($19.23 - $24.04/hr)
    ($19.23 - $24.04/hr)

    We pay on an hourly basis and based on experience. Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance such as brakes, steering, suspension, tune-ups, etc.

  • Service Manager
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $90,000/year

    Pay dependent on experience and skill level.
