  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    We have an application that takes about 10 minutes to complete.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Yes, we will conduct phone screenings as needed.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    Our in-person interviews last about 30-60 minutes. There are 2 rounds, with the first being a one-on-one discussion after hours, and the second being held during shop hours with other staff available to meet. The interviews will help us gain an idea of the candidate's skillset, training, work ethic, strengths, area for improvement, and what they are looking for in their next opportunity.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    We perform background checks for all candidates. Drug screening and personality tests will be done on an as-needed basis.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    We provide a skill assessment electronically, which is sent to the candidate after they apply.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    24-48 hours

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    About 1 week - we look to complete the process as quickly as possible

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    The shop is heated during colder months, and kept comfortable with fans during warmer months. Our offices are air-conditioned.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    We have a total of 3 technicians (ideally will grow to 5), plus office staff.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Shop hours and shifts are Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm No weekends! Lunch can be taken at any time, up to an hour There is the potential for after-hours shift work if interested

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    We provide all specialty tools, including scan tools, programming equipment, tire machines, presses, etc.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    -

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    7 inside bays and 1 outside bay

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    305

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    The Service Writer is responsible for ordering parts requested by technicians, so they are not responsible for ordering, just checking parts upon receiving.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Techs can work on their personal vehicle only at the shop, as long as they are not being compensation. Side work at home is acceptable, as long as it is off hours and not in conflict with our shop.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    - We plan to be expanding to a second location in the near future - There is plenty of work to be done at our shop! If you want to work and earn money, there is unlimited opportunity here.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Yes, we encourage training for any technicians interested. If there is a class in the local area, we will let our team know and encourage participation. Also, we will reimburse you for any passed ASE tests!

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Training is available for all levels of technicians, and we encourage you to grow your skills with us. We have performance bonuses as well! With our second location coming, there will be additional career opportunities there, not only as a tech, but ; opportunities at additional location in the future

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    For new hires, we will check in with them at 90 days and also conduct a performance review at 6 months. After that, and for all other staff, an annual performance review is completed. This review will discuss their work, efficiency, how they enjoy the work environment, and areas for growth. We conduct monthly team meetings as well to address any issues and get feedback on how to make the environment better.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Safety is always highly encouraged, and issues will be addressed as needed. We provide a safety review if there is any new shop equipment or procedures implemented.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    We have a supportive team atmosphere where newer technicians are mentored by seasoned technicians. Mentors will provide guidance and assist with questions whenever needed.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We are active in the community, supporting charity initiatives with local nonprofits, and are a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    We have historically been involved with a high school automotive training program, and would be open to any more partnerships!

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We hope to continue to grow, evolving with the changing automotive industry, and are excited to expand to a second location in the new future.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $90,000 - $160,000/year

    Compensation is flat-rate and based on efficiency, experience, and work ethic. Performance bonuses may be earned in addition!

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $90,000/year

    Compensation is flat-rate and based on efficiency, experience, and work ethic. Performance bonuses may be earned in addition!

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $40,000 - $60,000/year

    Compensation is flat-rate and based on efficiency, experience, and work ethic. Performance bonuses may be earned in addition!

  • Service Advisor
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $90,000/year

    Compensation is based on sales performance, experience, productivity. Performance bonuses may be earned in addition!

  • Student Tech / Apprentice
    Pay Range: $0 - $0/hour

    Working with us as a student apprentice is a great way for those entering the field to gain experience and knowledge while working under high-level technicians! We are excited to bring on students who want to grow their career with us. Along with shadowing, students will be able to receive training through NAPA Autotech online courses, and we will provide you with a weekly tool credit!
