Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    The application form is simple and to the point and should take no more than 5 minutes.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    All candidates undergo a 30 minute phone screen prior to a video round interview.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been conducting video interview which are generally 30 minutes to 1 hour where candidates will have the opportunity to speak with a few more members of our team.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    We do require candidates to undergo a background check.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    The skills assessment is completed during the interview process and consists of diagnostic and technical questions.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    We move fast! Candidates should expect to have a hiring decision within 2 business days.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    With our onboarding process, we are able to get candidates onboard in as soon as a week. We are flexible with candidate timelines and scheduling with their previous employers.

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Both! The vans all have both heat and air conditioning.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    You'd be flying solo for the most part.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Hours depend on the position, Fleet hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Mobile hours are four 10 hour shifts with a set, consecutive schedule.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    All tools and diagnostic equipment is provided.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Anywhere! Since this is a mobile role, techs are able to take a break anywhere along their route.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    Everywhere is a bay with the right equipment.

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    Technicians average 16-20 repair orders per week.

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    All parts will be ordered by dispatch, techs just pick them up on their way to their appointments!

  • What is your policy on side work?

    We currently do not allow any side work using the company van or tools.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    This is completely mobile role which will allow you to explore new areas and see new sights.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    RepairSmith believes that formal education has a positive impact on an employee’s contribution to the Company. RepairSmith supports self-development and educational efforts by providing reimbursements for many of the expenses associated with continuing education courses. All full-time RepairSmith employees, after completing six (6) months with the company are eligible for $1000 per year to use for continuing education

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    With the rapid growth we have been experiencing, there have been numerous new positions being created. The most standard progression is from a Technician to a Team Lead. We also provide Techs $1000/year for education reimbursement to allow them to continue to learn and grow.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    We do reviews every quarter after your first 90 days of employment. At every review, you are eligible for a pay increase and/or promotion at your manager and company discretion.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    We require safety training on the proper disposal of hazardous waste and training on best practices of working in the field.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    We currently do not have Techs partner with younger techs, but plan to have these programs in the future.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    RepairSmith prides itself on giving back to the community and has done this by offering free repairs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    We are not currently partnering with local high schools or tech schools but will be providing a scholarship program in the near future.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We are quickly becoming a household name here at RepairSmith, and are working on becoming a fully national brand to completely change the way everyone gets car repaired.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    Working with a start-up provides vast opportunities for growth and advancement. RepairSmith does a great job of working with their employees to help them achieve their goals

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $110,000/year

    The compensation level reflects a tenured technician who is ASE Master Certified and has worked on various makes/models. 4 days, 10-hour shift plus any overtime and commissions made off of incentive plan.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $45,000 - $70,000/year

    The compensation level reflects a tenured technician who is ASE Certified in A4, A5, and A8; and has worked on various makes/models. 4 days, 10-hour shifts plus any overtime and commissions made off of incentive plan.

  • Service Advisor
    Pay Range: $45,000 - $60,000/year

    Compensation listed does not include potential overtime and commission potential

Uniforms Offered All uniforms (shirt, pants, hat, and boots) provided. Fully branded Mercedes van with all the tools and equipment needed out in the field for all the elements.
