We are a family friendly, team orientated shop that has been in business for over 32 years.
Technicians are always encouraged to continue their training and advance their skill set. There is a lot of NAPA training out there that we participate in, and ASE's are recommended as well.
Being a mom and pop shop we are limited positions available. That being said, we always want our techs to achieve their career goals. When positions come open hiring within is always the first option. They always have the opportunity to grow as a tech through training which will also help with their compensation.
No formal review process currently, but we are looking at putting one into place.
Nothing formal, but we are looking at incorporating a safety policy.
Team work is a must in our shop. Our techs always work together, and if questions arise they will help each other through repairs. Experienced technicians are available to answer any additional questions as well.
We participate in our local food bank called Mission Northeast and advertise for them on our Facebook page. We also help with toys for tots, and offer discounts for our clients who participate.
We have worked with Lonestar Automotive and their apprentice program.
Our goal is keep with our industry in regards to the ever changing technology. Keeping our technicians interested and motivated to obtain certifications, and go to trainings is a must for that. As an owner, working more on the business not in the business is a personal goal I look to achieve as well.
We provide a starter tool kit available for our new technicians at a minimal cost compared to what you will be receiving.
Basic application, only takes a couple of minutes to complete.
There is a light phone screen done by the owner, or service advisor. Discussion includes candidates experience, tool collection, certifications, and some hypothetical's discussion about repairs.
In-person interviews are done by the owner. We dive deeper into experience, background, certifications, and what the technicians career goals might look like.
No
No formal skills assessment. Skill sets are discussed in the interview process and through hypothetical situations.
