Phil Meador Toyota is a family owned and run dealership established in 1977. Since 1977 we have had to build two new locations due to our growth. Our present location is 6 years old. We are located minutes away from mountain biking, water skiing, fishing, hunting, world class snow skiing and the home of Idaho State University.

Hiring Process
  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    The shop is heated with in-floor heat. We are not air conditioned

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    Our team consists of 6 technicians

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Our shop hours are 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. Monday - Friday 8:00 AM-2:00 P.M. Saturday All technicians work one Saturday a month

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    Shop is equipped with in bay tool boxes, standard transmission and hydraulic jacks, factory scan tools battery chargers vise, grinders, press, and Toyota special service tools.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Our break room is equipped with refrigerator, microwave, sink and vending

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    We have 16 total bays

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    We average 1100 repair orders per month

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Parts are ordered by technician after approval is obtained from service advisors. The system is digital from a price and availability program.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Side work is limited to personal and family vehicles

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    Our shop is equipped with in-ground lifts. It is the cleanest shop you have ever worked in.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Factory training is provided at no cost paid at 8 hours a day. On-line training is available 24 hours. Non factory seminars are available.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    The growth path is set for all line techs to become ASE and Toyota master certified.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    The performance review is conducted on an individual basis depending on performance and growth of the technician.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Safety training is done in-house with a review of equipment and safety protocol.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Techs work with each other as needed. Younger techs may work along side of a master tech until they are ready to go solo.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We sponsor 3 banquets a year in our shop. We also sponsor a major amateur golf tournament each summer. We are heavily involved in secret santa, toys for tots, our local animal shelter and our local university athletic department.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    The service manager is on the advisory board on the local vo-tech automotive program

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    The shop will see 10-15% growth each year as we grow in vehicle sales. We are presently in the top of our region in customer retention.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    Training is a priority!

  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Our application form should take 10-15 minutes to complete.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    We do phone interviews as needed.

    Information on work history. Personal achievements and future desires for growth. What you believe you can do for our company and what our company can do for you. We strive to make your talents achieve our needs and your goals.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Background checks, drug screening, and credit checks will be completed.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    Assessments are done on as needed basis.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    72 hours if all information can be gathered in that time frame.

    We are looking for the individual that is looking for the best they can be.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $80,000/year ($28.85 - $38.46/hr)
    ($28.85 - $38.46/hr)

    Our techs are paid on flat rate hour. The opportunity is unlimited.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $60,000/year ($24.04 - $28.85/hr)
    ($24.04 - $28.85/hr)

    Our techs are paid on flat rate hour. The opportunity is unlimited

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $30,000 - $45,000/year ($14.42 - $21.63/hr)
    ($14.42 - $21.63/hr)

    our techs are paid on flat rate hour. The opportunity is unlimited.
