  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    31 Techs, 4 Service advisors, 3 Technician Managers, 6 Parts supporting staff.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    7AM - 12AM 1st Shift 7am to 3:30PM 2nd Shift 3:30PM to 12AM

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    The shop Provides all safety equipment- tooling 3/4" and above, all dianostic equipment.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Heated and cooled lunch room - TV, refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    25 Bays

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    250 - 300

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Tech fills out a part request for the parts team to look up and order.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    No Moonlighting

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    Heated shop floor, 4 overhead cranes, 2 floor scrubbers to keep the shop clean

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Yes, Penn Power Group employees have access to initial and on going in house, factory authorized training. In addition, we send technicians to external trainings as needed. Lastly, technicians can earn an increase for obtaining and maintaining ASE certifications..

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Technicians can grow their careers through adding on certifications, taking on additional responsibilities including mobile fleet technician, lead and foreman roles. A number of our technicians have also transferred to leadership roles within their locations.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Everyone in the organization receives annual performance and compensation reviews. In addition technicians are reviewed on an as needed basis to recognize outstanding performance.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Employees receive in person and on line training as part of their on boarding as well as annual compliance training. Each shop has at least one designated safety coordinator; a role which rote

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    When a technician joins our team, regardless of their level of experience, we match them with another technician to show them how to work within our system. Depending on the individual situations and experience levels the technicians work closely with management to oversee the technician's work.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    Each location supports their local community and as a company we support a number of industry associations

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Our teams work very closely with local technical and career schools and members of our staff sit on advisory boards as well as present ot students on a regular basis

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    Penn Power Group's Fleet Services team is on the fast track to add technicians to not only support customers at their sites, but also to bring work back to our service centers that cannot be completed in the field. This expansion will continue to create many opportunities for new and existing staff technicians.

    After you apply, a member of the Recruiting team will be in touch to discuss your interests in our position and the requirements of the job. If we both believe the job is a fit, we will invite you into the shop for an on-site interview.

    During your interview, you can expect to meet with Management members of the team, including the hiring manager and get a chance to check out our shop!

    Once you accept the details of the offer, we will begin our preemployment process. Lastly, once you clear our preemployment process, we will set a date for you to start your career with Penn Power Group!
