Oxford Automotive is a family owned auto service and repair business located in beautiful Delaware County Ohio. We currently have locations in Delaware and Powell with plans to add another location in Westerville in the near future. Our mission is "to love our customers by offering honest solutions and a remarkable experience." The over 800 Google reviews with a 4.9 star rating shows that we are accomplishing this mission! Both of our shops have beautiful customer lobbies and clean, organized, and well lighted shop work areas. Both shops are air conditioned and well ventilated. We hold four core values at Oxford: Humble Leadership, Excellent Work, Efficient Habits, and Growth Mindset. These are the values that we promote to all our teams. The Oxford work culture is awesome! We have had very little attrition in the last 3 years. Oxford expects high performance and our staff has risen to the challenge. We have several award winning technicians and advisors! The less skilled staff get nurtured in their craft by the senior more skilled techs and advisors. Oxford provides and promotes great training opportunities to all our staff.   • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    7:30-5:30 (Monday-Friday) NO WEEKENDS!!!!

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    2 post lifts per bay, diagnostic scan tools, specialty tools are provided and we will buy as needed to keep up-to date

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Fridge, coffee maker, table, chairs, lockers, water provided

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    6 Delaware 10 Powell

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    270 Delaware 400 Powell

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Our Service Advisors run the parts ordering process. They will write everything up and get everything ordered for each repair. We also have a technician designated at each location to run and get parts, handle returned parts, and take care of longer test drives. Parts will be received as soon as we can get them.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Personal vehicles, and family vehicles, can be done after hours and on approval by the manager

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    Culture and work environment is very important to us. We play no favoritism and everyone is treated the same. We are always open to new ideas to help improve our shop and team atmosphere. With any objectives we sit down as a team and brainstorm ideas to find a solution. We also have an additional location in Powell that we are always looking for good team members as well.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Our company is always looking for continued training for our technicians. The owner and technicians are always on the lookout for opportunities and training will be paid for technician to attend.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Our goal is for all of our technicians to become master technicians. We will help train any technician who has the willingness to advance with our in shop mentoring program, and out of shop training opportunities.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Every 90 days we do reviews. Reviews are half job related, and half goals related. We run through job performance, and go over career and personal life goals. We also have weekly team meetings and review our scorecards. This includes weekly goals, and averages for example.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Nothing formal

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Junior technician will join our team on an hourly pay system. They team up with with a senior technician who will help them through repairs, and answer any further questions. The senior technician will still receive hours turned pay during this process.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We participate in activities like street fairs, and support local sports teams. We are always brainstorming different ideas to help our community. For example, during the pandemic we offered free oil changes to all healthcare workers.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    We have a brand new career center in our town. Our owner participates on the advisory board. We also work with a local ministry to help with local teenagers develop life skills. We donate tools and time to the program.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We are looking to expand our brand to five locations in the next five years. Finding staff will be crucial in that process. Our goal is to be the best place to go in Central Ohio for vehicle service and repairs. We also want our culture and work environment to match. This is a place for a technician to call home, not just a stopping point.

  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Paper application that takes about 15 minutes

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Yes, we discuss the company's atmosphere and culture. We also like to get to know the technician beyond just their work history. Things like hobbies, family and future goals.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    We do a two step in-person interview process. The first interview will be with the owner. Discussion really jumps into technicians background, work history and career goals. We also do a shop tour to show them around and get them to meet our other technicians. Second interview is done with owner and the location manager. During this phase we have technicians take our Athena assessment which takes about 15 minutes. This will not be a deal breaker on whether or not you get the position.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    No background check or drug screen. Athena test is done during the second interview.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    We do a two page skills assessment that is done during the application stage of the hiring process.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    2 Days

    We are also hiring at our Powell location.

    Pay Range: $80,000 - $150,000/year ($38.46 - $72.12/hr)
    ($38.46 - $72.12/hr)

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $90,000/year

    Flat-rate pay structure Pay based on experience, certifications, background Sign-On-Bonus available

  • Service Advisor
    Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000/year

    Commission paid position Sign-On-Bonus available

Health Insurance Offered We provide a $500 health reimbursement account if technician has an ACA qualifying plan. Account will be setup after 90 days of employment.
