Being that this is a mobile position, some shops that you go to will be climate controlled and some may not.
We have a network of over 1000 inspections nation wide. Our inhouse team consists of approximately 30 people to include our management staff, dispatch team, and quality assurance team.
Inspections are to be performed during normal shop operating hours. Monday through Friday. No weekends!!

Being that this is a 1099 position many inspectors do have other sources of income. It is also very common for inspectors to work for multiple inspection companies. Especially in lower volume areas.
This is a remote position.
On the job training is done via email and phone.
Inspectors operate as independent contractors.

Unfortunately, this position does require real world shop experience and someone fresh out of high school or tech school would likely not have the experience required.

This is a 1099 position, and compensation is on a per inspection basis. Many factors can go into the income that one can make, including location and personal ability. Mechanical inspections start at $50. Mechanical inspections can increase to $55 after a probationary period. Pre Purchase inspections pay $85. Arbitration inspections pay $45. Mileage is paid at a rate of $0.40 per mile outside of a 40 miles range from your home address. This mileage pay is round trip outside of that 40 mile range.

A mechanical inspector will perform mechanical breakdown inspections for extended warranty companies, and OEM manufacturers. An inspector will also perform pre purchase inspections, and arbitration inspections. This inspector position is a remote position, 1099, and pay is on a per inspection basis.
