Both of our shops are heated and cooled.

Our teams are usually between 3-5 team members.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop hours are 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday and 9:00am to 2:00pm on Saturdays. Saturdays are on rotation, so a technician will usually work one every couple of months or so.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide all tools needed with exception to the basic technician tools that they own. Example would be all special tools needed by the manufacturer, laptops for diagnostic, wheel balancers, tire mounting machines, brake lathes, A/C machines, fluid flush machines etc. We also supply each technician with their own chromebook to use with our DMS, Xtime, Pencilwrench and access to Ford.

We average approximately 1200 ROs a month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Technicians are encouraged to stay in their bay. Each of them have their own computer and submit parts requests via Xtime/Inspect. And we will soon be delivering parts from the parts department to the technicians bays.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is not allowed because of insurance liability. We do however allow techs to work on immediate family members vehicles with an RO.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are a great team! We have goals that are set, both individually and as a group. The technicians have production bonuses for both the amount of hours produced per week, and also we have a raffle based on how many times they hit their production goal daily. If the shop hits the shop goal we grill lunch for everyone.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Training is very important to us here at Montrose Ford/Nissan. We want to set people up to succeed. We lay out a path for each employee and send them to training both to build someone up and also to keep them current with the latest technologies that they will be seeing. We pay for manufacturer training both on site and off premise including : Travel, Lodging, Food, and time at class.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Career growth depends on the individual. We have paths for technicians which will be different from advisors. Technicians will start as line techs, with the opportunity to become senior master technicians and/or team leaders.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We perform monthly reviews where we look at the previous month to establish goals for the up coming month. It is a formal review looking at goals and commitments. Then it is an open forum for the individual to tell us what is on their mind.

What type of safety training is required?

We do not require safety training. We have an open line of communication regarding any safety concerns that the team may have and we address them.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We run a team system in our shop. The teams are generally 3-4 man teams with a team leader. The team leader is tasked with dispatching the work to his/her team and help mentor the less experienced team members.

We work with the local schools to bring people into the industry.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work with the local tech school and also the high school. High school level is usually interns and the tech school is usually part time trainees until they graduate.

We just expanded our shop capacity with 15 more bays in our new facility in order to facilitate the large volume that we are experiencing. We believe that with the growth we are already seeing that we may have build more.

We have a job application that takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
