Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We do have a basic application but we usually just like to have a conversation with our potential employees

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Yes we do

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

Just a conversation. An opportunity for us to understand what each other is looking for. An opportunity for us to see what you're experience & qualification are.To see how you interact with people

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We will call references but if you have a drug problem, you probably won't last here very long.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    No we do not

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    1-2 days

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    Sometimes just an hour.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

We are pretty easy around here. We are looking for an experienced mechanic well versed in all aspects of auto repair. If you fit that bill we want you to come work with us.

We have central gas heat in the shop. We have multiple fans for the summer time.

Once a mechanic is with us for long enough to develop a trusted relationship that mechanic can do side work with in reason.

We like to think MJS is a nice place to come to work. We try to keep things as low stress as we can but we are here to get the job done. We try to keep things easy and as simple as possible. We will turn down jobs that may not be worth the aggravation (north star, 5.4 Triton heads, ect) If we need something we will get it.

We do pay for additional training on the more advanced level. We usually discuss what courses are the most beneficial.

We all work together here, we help each other when ever asked. We all get along very well and we like to keep it that way. Its not fun coming to a job everyday when you don't enjoy your coworkers.
