  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Mega Rentals, Inc. has a short form application that takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    We typically schedule a phone screen with applicants.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    We have candidates participate in an in-person interview. That interview is with the Fleet Manager and our Human Resource Generalist.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    After submitting an application, candidates will be asked to complete a short questionnaire. Offers of employment are contingent on candidate passing a background check, drug testing and physical exam.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    We assess skills as part of the interview process and candidate provided experience.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    2-3 days

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Our shop is heated, but not air conditioned. An air conditioned break area is available.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    1 Fleet Manager 3 Fleet Mechanics

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Typically 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. M-F. Start and end times can be flexible.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    We provide specialty tools and equipment. Our Fleet Mechanics provide their own tools/toolboxes.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    A indoor breakroom and kitchen are provided.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    4-bays

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    50+

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Utilize phone and computer for parts ordering with approval from Fleet Manager.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Side work at our location is at the discretion of the Fleet Manager. Side work at a different shop is allowed as long as it doesn't interfere with Mega Rentals work schedule.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    Every day at Mega Rentals, Inc. is different. Work is done on all sizes of equipment/vehicles to support our heavy/highway construction operation. Our fleet consists of Class 1-8 vehicles. The equipment we work on includes trailers, message boards and arrow boards. We do lots of fabrication in our shop. Fleet mechanics get the opportunity to travel between branch locations, so there is some in-state travel, but no overnights.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Yes, vendor clinics during work hours and NTEA webinars. We utilize and offer training on the following: -Alldata program -Snap-On scanners -IDSS scan tool for Isuzu trucks

    Opportunities to work on different types of equipment/vehicles.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Annual performance reviews are conducted with Fleet Manager. Informal feedback given frequently.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Annual company-wide safety training, First Aid/CPR, fall protection, forklift certification, etc. Weekly toolbox talks and access to company Safety Director.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    We have a collaborative work environment. Many on the job training opportunities due to the different equipment/vehicles.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    Our company supports local charitable causes.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    We are in the process of establishing a Youth Apprenticeship program for Auto Techs.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We would like to expand our capacity by hiring more Fleet Mechanics.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    For employees that wish to obtain their CDL or currently have a CDL, we offer a CDL Reimbursement Program. We pay for written tests, DOT physical exams, and the CDL portion of license renewal fees. We will assist with finding a third-party administrator (if necessary) to conduct the driver testing and cover approved costs associated with them. We will also provide a vehicle to take the driving test portion of the process.

    Pay Range: $66,560 - $83,200/year ($32.00 - $40.00/hr)

    Heavy Equipment Mechanic - This compensation is based on 40 hours per week. Overtime opportunities are available.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $58,240 - $72,800/year ($28.00 - $35.00/hr)
    ($28.00 - $35.00/hr)

    Fleet Mechanic - This compensation is based on 40 hours per week. Overtime opportunities are available.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $62,400/year ($24.04 - $30.00/hr)

    Fleet Mechanic - This compensation is based on 40 hours per week. Overtime opportunities are available.

Health Insurance Offered Mega Rentals, Inc. offers its employees pre tax health insurance through Dean Health Plan. Each employee can choose the HMO plan or the PPO plan, depending upon their home address. For all eligible employees, Mega Rentals, Inc. pays a portion of the health insurance premium. Employees are eligible the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
Dental Insurance Offered Mega Rentals, Inc. offers its employees pre tax dental insurance through Delta Dental of Wisconsin. For all eligible employees, Mega Rentals, Inc. pays a portion of the dental insurance premium. Employees are eligible the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
Vision Insurance Offered Mega Rentals, Inc. offers its employees pre tax vision insurance through Superior Vision Insurance Plan of Wisconsin. For all eligible employees, this is a voluntary plan paid in full by the employee. Employees are eligible the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
Retirement Plan Offered Mega Rentals, Inc offers its employees 401(k) through John Hancock Financial. Employees 21 and over are eligible the first day of the month following 60 days of employment. Mega Rentals, Inc matches 50% of your contribution up to 4%.
Sick Leave Offered Full-time (year round) employees are eligible for 15 days of PTO each year. PTO is accrued each week and employees can carry a maximum of 5 days over into the next year. Employees are eligible and begin accruing PTO after 60 days of employment.

Paid Holidays Offered After 60 days of employment, full-time (year round) employees are eligible for holiday pay for New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
ST / LT Disability Offered Mega Rentals, Inc. offers its employee’s additional voluntary life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance and short-term disability insurance through Guardian Life Insurance. These plans are paid in full by the employee. Employees are eligible the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
Life Insurance Offered Mega Rentals, Inc. offers its employee’s employer sponsored life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment through Guardian Life Insurance.
