Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Employment applications are available at the reception area in our new building located at 3701 N. Causeway Blvd. in Metairie, LA. After completion they will be given to our Human Resource Manager who will share with the appropriate department manager. If there is an interest, our HR manager will contact the applicant to coordinate an interview and schedule as conveniently as possible. We make a sincere attempt to have anyone that needs to be involved in the process here to speak with the candidate here so they will not be inconvenienced.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    There are some situations where we do phone screen applicants.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    In person interviews entails a short interview with management

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Yes

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    No

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    We would usually have a rejection or exceptions back with in just a few days.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    It usually takes approximately a week for a decision on employment

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Our shops are heated and well ventilated

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    Our shop is set up as one big team with multiple leaders

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Tech hours are generally 8:00am to 5:00 pm but there are some earlier and later shifts available

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    With the many specialty tools required, we have Toyota specific tools to fit your needs

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    We have a huge break room with cable tv, tables, chairs, microwave, refrigerator and even sofas

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    Our shop has 32 bays

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    With the growing automotive industry we are creating approximately 3000 repair orders per month

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    For ordering parts, the technician would electronically send a request to the parts department that will be sent electronically to the advisor

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Absolutely no side work is allowed. All repairs must go through the service department with a repair order written

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    We supply lunch on Saturdays.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    We offer free factory training for continual improvement

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    With continued training there are opportunities to advance up to Master Certified Technician

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    We have performance reviews every 6 months

  • What type of safety training is required?

    We offer yearly safety training courses explaining OSHA regulations

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Our lead techs help the less experienced tech by guiding them through difficult repairs

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We get involved through donations to schools, synagogues, charitable organizations, etc.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    For the high schools and local colleges that offer automotive programs we offer job openings

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    As technology continues to advance, the need for technicians and auto repairs will greatly increase. We are ready for the future.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $75,000 - $130,000/year

    Paid weekly according to stubbed hours

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year

    Paid weekly according to stubbed hours

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $45,000 - $75,000/year

    Paid weekly according to stubbed hours

  • Lube Technician
    Pay Range: $25,000 - $43,000/year

    Paid weekly according to stubbed hours

  • Collision Technician - A Level
    Pay Range: $0 - $150,000/year

    Collision Technician is paid by hours stubbed aligning with estimate.

  • Collision Technician - B Level
    Pay Range: $0 - $130,000/year

    Collision Technician is paid by hours stubbed aligning with estimate.

Health Insurance Offered Lakeside Toyota is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to eligible, full time employees who work 30 hours or more per week and have completed 60 days of service. Our health benefits are Administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana and there is a choice of 3 plans. We also offer, Dental, Vision, Employer —Paid Life and AD&D, Voluntary Life and AD&S, Voluntary short term disability, Employer-paid long term disability, Accident, Critical illness and Cancer.
