Job Description Position Equipment Service Technician Compensation Hourly Education: Technician School/5-10 years Service Technician experience Location Key Equipment STL Office Travel As needed Summary Leading equipment distribution company with branches located in Kansas, Sprinfield Il, and St. Louis and a large established customer base requires an Equipment Service Technician for our STL branch. The Equipment Service Technician will work directly with the company’s parts staff, service staff, and sales team to support and assist our customer base with their service work and needs, trouble shooting, and PDI of new units sold out of STL location. This position supports Key Equipment’s strategy to continue our growth in the contractor and municipal segment of our business. The qualified candidate will be responsible for working on customer’s equipment in our St. Louis branch. The successful candidate will work with the service departments service manager to establish the parts needs for the repair. The successful candidate will also work with the service manager to establish the best repair for the issue on each customer unit running through the shop. Must be able to work synergistically with others and in a team atmosphere. A successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as with the internal team to achieve company goals. Must enjoy working in a fast-paced company environment where teamwork, multi-tasking, a positive attitude, and initiative are paramount for overall success. An Equal Opportunity Employer Key Skill Set Requirements Equipment Service Technician o Ability to work in a team atmosphere o Provide service and customer support at the highest quality o Be a contributing part of the company’s service team o Have the ability to assess customer needs and suggest solutions o Assist in managing all on site installation, repairs, maintenance, and testing o Diagnose technical problems and determine proper solutions o Ability to communicate with employees and customers effectively and timely o Ability to work autonomously and be a self-starter o Produce timely and detailed service reports o Learn and apply practical field knowledge o Have a strong mechanical knowledge of all equipment Key equipment sells and services o Have a mechanical ability to repair all equipment Key Equipment sells o Be a leader in marketplace, known as a knowledgeable resource and asset o Assist in supporting Key Equipment’s PM programs o Limit customer downtime due to service or parts delays o Follow the company’ policies and procedures o Cooperate with the company’s technical team and share information across the organization o Follow management team direction in regards to company’s policy and procedure o Attend company based trainings on-site or at vendor’s location to maintain personal knowledge of new products and product changes o Maintain a clean and safe work space o Ability to lift 75 pounds, have drivers license with CDL, previous service experience, arrive on time daily ready to work o Work with the branches service manager on any other service request, service needs, and warranties
