Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Paper application that takes about 15 minutes to complete. Just basic information.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    There is a light phone screen done by our fixed operations director. Discussion includes where the candidate lives, some background information about their skill set, and certifications.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    Fixed operations director coordinates and handles the in-person interviews. A lot of the same information is cover from the phone screen. There is a little bit of a deeper dive into the candidates resume, experience, and career goals. We also discuss benefits, work schedule and pay.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Background checks, drug screens, and drivers license check is a must before hire.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    No formal skills assessment but there is a 90 probationary period.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Our background and license check usually takes about 3-5 days. Once we get that information back decisions are made immediately.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    About 3-5 days.

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    The shop is both heated and air conditioned.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    8 line techs 2 lube techs 3 service advisors 1 shop foreman 1 parts manager 2 parts specialists

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    8:00-5:00 (Monday-Friday) 8:00-2:00 (Saturday), rotating shift every third Saturday

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    All GM specialty tools needed are provided. Also, all major equipment will be provided. A lot of our equipment is under six months old.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Fridge, microwave, table, chairs, coffee maker, tv

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    18

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    1,100

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Technicians will write up the repair estimate and give that order to the service advisor. The advisor approves the estimate and will deliver it to the parts department to order. Parts will be received as soon as possible to complete repairs.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    No side work

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    We are a very family friendly, and team orientated shop. Everyone works together and no one is just a number here.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    We provide GM Factory Training to all of our technicians. For techs that want to advance their skill set and receive ASE certification we will pay for the first test taken.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Career growth is always promoted in our dealership. If opportunities are available promoting within is always our first choice. We can help setup up career paths and goals to help achieve these things.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    There is an informal performance review after the 90 probationary period. We will discuss performance, productivity, likes and dislikes.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Standard OSHA training.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Our team works together on a daily basis. Weather you are a master tech or entry level tech team work is a must. Our experienced technicians are always there to answer questions and help through repairs when time permits.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We participate in the Wounded Warriors Program, Toys for Tots, and other local school involvement to name a few.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Unfortunately there really isn't any tech schools in our general area, and most of our high schools have dropped the program.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We are looking at possible future expansion. To do this we need a motivated team around us. Adding technicians, and growing our client base is always something we are striving for.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    Number two in training in there area, ASE and GM training

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $70,000 - $100,000/year

    Flat-rate structure Based on experience, certifications, productivity

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $85,000/year

    Flat-rate structure Based on experience, certifications, productivity

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $40,000 - $60,000/year

    Flat-rate structure Based on experience, certifications, productivity

  • Lube Technician
    Pay Range: $25,000 - $31,400/year ($12.02 - $15.10/hr)

    Hourly paid position

Health Insurance Offered Provider is BCBS. Both single, spouse and family plans are available after 90 days of employment.
Dental Insurance Offered Benefits begins after 90 days of employment.
Vision Insurance Offered Benefits begins after 90 days of employment.
Retirement Plan Offered 401K, with a 3% match after one year of employment. There is a vesting schedule and employee is fully vested after 6 years of employment. There is also profit sharing opportunities for employees who participate in our retirement plan.
