  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    We welcome Phone and in-person interviews.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    In-person interviews involve a better understanding of the prospective candidate's skills, experience and education / training and explanation our job requirements.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    We do perform background checks and drug screening. We do not currently perform personality tests.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    Yes. Skill assessment is question based. We will perform the skill assessment inquiry during the interview process to ensure proper placement and fit for the position.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Expected wait for a response is relevant to the length of time the job positing is open. However, a call should be expected between 2 weeks and up to 1 month.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    The full hiring process duration is determined by the current business needs and demands. Generally, full hiring from application to hire takes 1 to 3 months.

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    The shop is not heated or cooled, however, we have an ' open air ' environment with ample overhead and shop fans.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    Approximately 30 associates.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Shop hours are 7:00 am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Due to the current Covid environment we are open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays. All shift timeframes involve 8 hours per day for 5 days. Overtime is granted case by case.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    All manufacturer mandatory special tools ( including diagnostic equipment ) are supplied by JLR Thousand Oaks. Technicians must utilize their own tools to diagnose and repair.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Service lunch room contains a refrigerator, microwave, sink, napkins, first aid kit, chairs and tables.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    We currently have 32 operational lifts with an additional lift designated for EV.

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    approximately 750 repair orders.

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Parts are order either next day or 2 days, depending on availability.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    No side work is allowed.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Yes, we are always looking for ways to advance associates in their careers within our company, depending on each induvial goals. Education / training opportunities are available via Jaguar Land Rover's training facility.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Yes, we invest in our associates and always eager to help them grow within their career. Example: a porter has the opportunity to advance to apprentice technician, then, further advancing to Master technician subject of the associate's capabilities and skills.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Performance reviews are scheduled once a month, quarterly or yearly depending on the business needs and environment.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    All associates are required to completed training as per OSHA regulations to our affiliate partner KPA.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Our shop foreman, Jean Pries, is dedicated to assisting and mentoring all of our technicians as needed.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We are involved within our community via our founder, John Anderson, by always ' Doing the Right Thing '.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Yes, our shop foreman, Jean Preis, is currently linked with a local university / college and provides education once a week to students.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We expect to grow our shop within 5 years from 15 to 20 technicians and from 4 to 5 service advisors.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $58,000 - $85,000/year

    Master Technician pay is based on $28.00 per clock hour. Plus, $12.00 bonus per flag hour for 100% productivity. Max pay is relevant to productivity.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $58,000 - $77,250/year

    Journeyman Technician pay is based on $28.00 per clock hour. Plus, $9.00 bonus per flag hour for 100% productivity. Max pay is relevant to productivity.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $58,000 - $62,500/year

    Certified Technician pay is based on $28.00 per clock hour. Plus, $6.00 bonus per flag hour for 100% productivity. Max pay is relevant to productivity.

  • Lube Technician
    Pay Range: $35,400 - $40,000/year

    Lube Technician pay is based on clocked hours. Tools supplied by JLR Thousand Oaks. Max pay is relevant to productivity.

  • Student Tech / Apprentice
    Pay Range: $15 - $17/hour

    Student / Apprentice pay is based on clocked hours. Tools supplied by JLR Thousand Oaks. Max pay is relevant to productivity.

Retirement Plan Offered Administered by Fidelity Investments, all employees are eligible to participate in the Plan upon hire. There is no waiting period! Contributions are made voluntarily by employees through payroll deductions each pay period. The company will match a portion of your contributions dollar-for-dollar immediately upon contributing to the Plan.
Sick Leave Offered All employees receive 3 sick days every calendar year.
Vacation Offered Regular full-time employees accrue paid vacations in accordance with the following policy: 0-6 months no accrual 6 months-1 year 5 days (40 hours) 2-4 years 10 days per year (80 hours) 5 years-or more 15 days per year (120 hours)

ST / LT Disability Offered Group Long-Term Disability -If your disability extends beyond 90 days, the employer-paid LTD coverage pays a monthly benefit of 60% of your monthly salary, up to maximum of $10,000 per month. Pre-existing condition excluded. You can also purchase additional coverage.
Life Insurance Offered In the event of your death, life insurance will provide your family members or other beneficiaries with financial protection and security. If your death is a result of an accident or if you become dismembered, your AD&D may apply. Employer Paid Term Life and AD&D: - Life insurance: Death benefit paid to your beneficiaries is a fixed amount of $50,000. - AD&D: Up to 1x annual salary to a maximum of $150,000 You can also purchase additional coverage.
Uniforms Offered Uniforms will be ordered in your size upon hire.
