  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Yes, typically under 1 hour to complete

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Yes

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    We have a series of five proprietary interviews we use with both the owner, various team members and the team as a whole. We may or may not use all of them in the hiring process depending on if the candidate has been in contact with us already or if they are new to us. These can be condensed into one visit and phone calls for candidates that are travelling from out of the area.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    All of the above

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    Yes

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Depends on the amount of applicants but 1-3 weeks is the norm.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    From this time 1 to 6 weeks depending on the position and the amount of applicants.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

    We take a lot of time in the hiring process to make sure it is a good fit for both the individual and the company. The people who work here are our most important asset, therefore we do our best to make sure each person we add to our team is a good fit both skill wise and culturally so that they are happy and successful for years to come.

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Shop is heated, no A/C (not necessary most of the year in our climate)

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    4 or 5 Technicians including yourself

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    7:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    2 post 12k Rotary Lifts, Hunter Alignment Rack and Alignment system, Large tool room with hundreds of factory specialty tools and the more expensive diagnostic equipment, Factory and aftermarket scan and programming tools as well as updates to that equipment, - Multiple Snap on scan tools and scopes, Ford IDS, GM MDI, GM MDI II, Tech 2's, Tech 1's, Chrysler WI Tech, Auto Enginuity Scan Tool, Auto Enginuity J-2534 Programming tool, Software Subscriptions to factory and aftermarket suppliers (Mitchell Prodemand, Identifix, IATN, AC Delco TDS, GM SI, Tech Authority, Ford Service info and any thing else we might need for information), Snap on Ignition Scope, AMCO Brake Lathe, On Car Brake Lathe, Powertrain lift, Transmission Jacks, Powertrain tables, Engine Hangers and stands, jacks and safety stands, battery chargers, maintenance and flush equipment, oil drains, Surface machine (for exhaust manifolds), bulk oil and coolant dispensing equipment, MIG Welder, Oxy/Acetylene Torches, Bolt,nut and retainer assortments by Fastenall, Shop Supplies in each bay as well a restocking station.

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Tech's list parts needed on their inspections and move on to the next job while the advisors procure parts, receive them and place them in bins arranged by vehicle. When all parts are received and time is scheduled for the repair, the tech gets his bin and goes to work.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Technicians and advisors are well compensated and in order to provide a great livelihood for themselves and their families, therefore their position here must be first in regards to commitment of time and energy. It is expected that a technician shows up to work on time and ready to work every week without being tired from working at home or elsewhere. However it is expected that a technician takes care of their own and direct family members vehicles and are encouraged to use the shop for that purpose, but on their own time when ever possible and not for profit. Any work outside of that is to be done at home if desired. Working for or assisting other shops, soliciting our customers for side work, or using Integrity Auto Services facility to perform for profit repairs is prohibited at any time or place.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    The grease that let this machine work is in our culture. We are a very close knit team that works well together because we all take our roles very seriously. We are always looking for ways to improve. We share in the successes and the difficulties everyday. This creates a mutual respect which binds us together and makes us a team. It also why we have fun at work and enjoy hanging out with each other even outside of the shop. It is not uncommon to share dinner tables, fishing trips, camping, road trips and other activities. In short, we are a family. Our owner, Jeremy Johnson cares deeply for each person who puts their trust in him and his vision known as Integrity Auto Services. These are not just words, they are actions you see in real time everyday at our shop.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    New hires have extensive in-house training on processes and skills applicable to working at Integrity Auto Services. Service Advisors are offered online training and the Elite Masters Course. For techs we offer online training through NAPA Training Center and multiple vendor based programs. We take live outside classes whenever they are available in our area.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Growth is one of our core values.We dedicate time every week to training. This happens in several different ways. - advisor, tech and team meetings provide group learning opportunities. Individual career advancement happens through the occasional assignment of a duty that is outside your normal role and mentored on how to get through it. Or learning assignments that involve online training and then putting what was learned into action. At any one time there are several projects going on to improve how we operate and do business as a team. This results in an environment that team members can belong and hone their skills in whatever role they choose. In summary, if you don't desire to continually improve then Integrity Auto Services isn't the place for you.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    We track the performance of each team member in the following ways: Individual Job Performance, Attitude, Achievement of Personal Goals, Achievement of Professional Goals, Training, Exemplary Performance and Growth Areas. Individual Job Performance metrics are monitored and recorded weekly and reviewed informally as needed. At least once a quarter one on one meetings happen with the the owner to review progress toward the personal and professional goals of the individual, give them praise for their wins and discuss any areas of concern. We take personal interest in the success of our team members and reviews are one of the ways we show that.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Safe operation of all shop equipment is expected and required. One on training will be provided depending on the needs of the individual during their initial training when hired.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    This depends on which role the younger tech was hired to do - Apprentice or Maintenance Tech and younger techs skill and experience level. For Maintenance Techs it is expected that they have some work experience already with the duties they are hired to do and after the initial training during the on-boarding process they should be able to perform their jobs. From then on Lead or Line techs will provide guidance as needed or team up with them on new types of jobs while they learn the skill in an effort to grow into a line tech position. In an Apprentice Tech situation where the newer tech does not have experience outside of trade school, they may be assigned a senior technician to work with for a predetermined time period while they learn the roles of a Maintenance Technician.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We support benevolence programs through local churches and non-profits by way of donations and free or discounted services, Owner Jeremy Johnson is President of the La Pine Chamber of Commerce, we sponsor virtually every local event, we offer support to local restaurants through team meals and Social Media giveaways and have even been known to do a car giveaway to families in need on occasion.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Have done career fairs in the past when the schools offer them

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    Multiple locations throughout Central Oregon and being the premier shop to work for in our area with solid long term minded team members who care about their clients and community.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    This business is made by people for people. Whether client or team member, they are our most important asset and we would not exist without them. Making the most of these relationships is at the forefront of all we do.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year

    We use a flat rate pay structure which works best for our customers and our team. This allows our techs to have maximum opportunity and flexibility on how much they want to work and earn. It also allows us the ability to give our customers accurate estimates for labor. We pay a percentage of a team members labor revenue and there is no cap on how much they make even though they require one be listed here. Lead Techs perform the majority of our diagnostic duties as well as all aspects of repair. Lead Techs are a valued part of our team.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $45,000 - $65,000/year

    We use a flat rate pay structure which works best for our customers and our team. This allows our techs to have maximum opportunity and flexibility on how much they want to work and earn. It also allows us the ability to give our customers accurate estimates for labor. B Level techs or "Line Techs" as we call them, perform the majority of our heavy line work such as engine and transmission replacements, drivetrain repairs and other types of parts replacement. We pay a percentage of a team members labor revenue and there is no cap on how much they make even though they require we list one here. Line Techs are a valued part of our team.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $25,000 - $35,000/year

    C Techs or "Maintenance Technicians" as we call them are responsible for performing maintenance inspections, Oil services, light repairs and maintenance as well as assisting other technicians with test drives and general shop duties clean-up duties including snow removal a few time a year. This position does require some computer skills as well as a customer friendly face and attitude. Maintenance Techs are not "low man on the totem pole" here, they are an extremely valued part of our team that is pivotal to the shops success.

  • Lube Technician
    Pay Range: $23,000 - $34,000/year

    Lube Techs or "Maintenance Technicians" as we call them are responsible for performing maintenance inspections, Oil services, light repairs and maintenance as well as assisting other technicians with test drives and general shop duties clean-up duties including snow removal a few time a year. This position does require some computer skills as well as a customer friendly face and attitude. Maintenance Techs are not "low man on the totem pole" here, they are an extremely valued part of our team and are pivotal to the shops success.

  • Service Advisor
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $90,000/year

    Advisors are paid on a percentage basis of total sales that increases with customer satisfaction. Advisors at Integrity Auto Services must care deeply about our customers and our technicians. This is a position for a self-motivated and driven person with excellent tonality and interpersonal skills. They must be organized and able to follow consistent process in order to deliver consistent results to our customers and technicians. There is no cap on their earning potential even though we are required to list one here.

  • Service Manager
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year

    Service Managers are paid a percentage of shop profits. As with all positions, there no limit to their earning potential.

  • Student Tech / Apprentice
    Pay Range: $12 - $16/hour

    Student / Apprentice Techs are paid on an hourly basis. This is a short term position where once training is complete, they will be expected to move into a Maintenance Technician Position and beyond. Student or Apprentice technicians need to have completed technical school and have a strong desire toward excellence with their sights firmly set on a career as an automotive technician. Our team will pour a lot of time and effort into this person so it is expected that the time and effort is matched on the apprentices part. There is a lot of self study and computer based training required as well in order to learn our processes and become familiar with the services we perform. In return, an apprentice here will have the opportunity to learn from highly experienced and skilled team of technicians, service advisors and manager. We only take on one apprentice at a time and there is a wait list.
