This shop is not air-conditioned, but we do have large fans in place to provide comfort.
We have over 30 technicians over two shifts and a total crew size of 52 people.
We operate two shifts 6:00 am - 3:00 pm and 3:30pm - 12:00 am.
We have computer testing equipment, welding equipment, specialty testing equipment, and wheel/tire machines for small and large tires.
We have a medium size break-room area that can accommodate roughly 6 - 8 people with a vending machines, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.
Our shop has 8 small shop bays, 1 very large area for multiple large pieces of equipment. We also have 4 bays for fire equipment.
We average roughly 900 - 1,000 repair orders per month.
We have a parts warehouse with multiple parts clerks that assist in obtaining needed parts we may not have on hand.
First Vehicle does not allow side work in the shops at any location.

We have our own in-house training and each technician will receive at least 40 hours of training annually. We offer ASE training and testing to all of our technicians at no cost to them. Also, we have in-person OEM training, and Firstgroup Tech College offers hundreds of hours of tech knowledge and quizzes with new courses added weekly. We also sponsor our own in-house EVT testing.
Many of our managers and leadership were once technicians themselves.
Reviews are performed annually and are based on ASE obtained, noted skill advancement, and diagnostic accuracy.
This location requires lockout tag-out, PPE, lift usage, monthly safety meetings, and daily safety message.
At this First Vehicle location, our more senior technicians will shadow the lesser experience techs and guide them through the diagnostic and problem-solving processes to make accurate repairs.
This shop does attend community events.
First Vehicle does partner with local technical schools.
This location is working hard to be one cohesive unit with all of its various departments and will soon be one of the top shops in the company. We also accel to achieve ASE and EVT Certifications. We are also preparing to train for CDL testing.
Yes, we have an online application that can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes to complete. We are a DOT employer so the application may seem a little lengthy, but we are always happy to assist. You can even complete the application on a computer in our shop.
A manager may ask you a few questions over the phone when they schedule you for an interview, but most questions are saved for the in-person interview.
You will meet face-to-face with our Maintenance Manager who will ask you questions from a structured interview guide. Interviews take at least 30 minutes to complete.
We do have a background check and drug screening process once you accept a job offer.
No skills assessments are performed.
You should hear back within a few days of your interview. If you are still waiting on an answer after a week, call or email the manager and they will follow up with you.
Depending on where the manager is with reviewing and interviewing candidates, it should take about one week from the time you submit an application to the time a hiring decision is made.
