Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Yes, it takes about 15 minutes.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Yes. Phone call screening can take place any time that is necessary for applicant, including nights and weekends.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    General getting to know you information and questions of current employment status. We try to give a brief description of our business and what a typical day would entail for a new employee. Rough estimates of pay can be discussed and setting up a time to meet and person.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    No.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    No.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Within one week. If there is a large field of applicants that will require more time the applicant will be informed of that at the time they turn in an application.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    One to two weeks.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

    No.

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    The shop has in floor heat and is not air conditioned.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    Roughly seven people in the shop. The full staff is about 15 people.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 5:00pm. Saturday 7:00-12:00 (employees work every other Saturday)

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    The shop will provide all diagnostic equipment and any specialty tools required.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    A full break room in the air conditioned portion of the building. All employees have access to refrigerator, microwave, and sink.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    12

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    250

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Parts are ordered on two day ground orders or transferred from alternate locations in network.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Side work is allowed if the work is not being done for hire and the parts are purchased from Farm-Rite Equipment, INC.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    No.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Employees participate in Bobcat Brand learning paths.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Our company has been growing consistently for over 20 years and has added three locations in the past eight years. All of our store managers and department managers have been promoted within.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Annual review with department manager.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    None.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Experienced techs are allowed and encouraged to lend a hand and information to younger techs. They assist them with diagnostics and training as well as shadowing their work.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We participate in the local community by donating money and equipment to various 4H and FFA clubs. We regularly donate equipment to public and charity functions.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Currently our involvement is limited, but we do hire part time help from local schools.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    Continue to grow our equipment solution offering.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    Not at this time.

    Pay Range: $45,000 - $55,000/year

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $35,000 - $45,000/year

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $30,000 - $35,000/year

  • Student Tech / Apprentice
    Pay Range: $12 - $15/hour
