About Us

Engle Automotive was originally founded in 1992 by Bryan Engle in Loveland, CO. As a young entrepreneur he did very well and quickly gained a loyal customer base. What surprised most people was the expertise in which he repaired vehicles, especially when they learned he was rather young, at the age 19. Bryan had started in the professional automotive industry at age 15, simply working after school and weekends. In 1992 Bryan graduated from Larimer County Front Range community college with a degree in Automotive Repair Technology. After a year of business his business partner/friend was killed in an unfortunate fire. Bryan closed the business and began working as a technician for another repair facility. Four years later in 1996 brothers Bryan and Mark Engle reopened Engle Automotive in Loveland, CO. Three years after reopening Engle Automotive moved to an expanded location in August of 1999. In the Sping of 2008, Engle Automotive moved to a NEW 15 service bay, 12,000 sq- ft. repair facility located in Loveland. Engle Automotive now employees over 13 team members who live and breathe everything automotive and are very good at what we do. Our elite team of automotive specialists take great pride in fixing things right the first time and we've done it right enough times to earn a AAA report that indicates our customer satisfaction rating is within the top 3% of repair facilities nationwide. We are recognized as a AAA Top Shop!

Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Engle Automotive begins our hiring process with reviewing of a resume. Please don't hesitate to put one together, even a very basic resume is generally enough to begin. One thing that we do encourage is a well written cover letter explaining whom you are at work, outside of work, and why you should be considered for a position on our team.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We absolutely screen applicants by phone. Most of the interviewing process is completed by Engle Automotive Management staff, but sometimes even the owner is involved.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

In person interviews start with a Personality Profile test and (for technicians) a proficiency test that helps our Managers understand your base knowledge and personality type. (Don't worry, you CANNOT FAIL either test and they typically take less than an hour to complete.)

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Sometimes background tests are performed. Personality Profile tests are (almost) always given. Drug test are mandated anytime a team member gets hurt or is involved in a accident.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Our managers will ask potential technician candidates to complete a proficiency test that helps us understand your base knowledge.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

We generally take 2-4 weeks completing the process.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    2-4 weeks

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

As we move along through the interviewing process, one of our final processes is a paid working interview. The working interview could be anywhere from a few hours to a few days (depending on assessment needs and candidate availability).

We offer "in house" training and professional advancement training for technicians and Service Advisors.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

Our review process is nearly constant. Our managers continually look for team members doing the right thing and compliment them when doing so. Even if a team member was doing something "mostly right" we see an opportunity to coach the team member into being better. We also believe in frequent one-on-one sessions with team members and managers to help everyone advance into the full potential they could be.

  • What type of safety training is required?

We train and certify all personnel necessary for the safe operation of everything from a brake lathe to a fork lift.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Personality Profile Testing helps our managers "pair up" an apprentice technician with Master Technicians. Our Master Techs are the immediate manager (or boss) of the Apprentice Technician. Half of the AT wages are paid by the MT while all of the "flagged hours" produced by the AT accumulate on the MT pay sheet. It truly is a wonderful and beneficial program for both parties. Beyond the the Apprentice Technician program, Engle Automotive has an amazing culture of true team work. When there is a tough problem, our technicians have not only the best information available, but they also have an entire team available to help!

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Nothing currently, but Engle Automotive does recognize the need for encouragement in our industry.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

Engle Automotive is continuing to grow and we have even began considering to expand our services with an additional service facility and possibly a Medium Duty truck service center.
