Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    We do have an online application, and it takes roughly 15 minutes to complete.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    If applicants are within a reasonable distance for an in-person interview, that is the preference.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    Our interviews include conversations about career background, experience, and training, as well as goals and direction for the future.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    We perform background check and drug screening.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    We do not perform a skill assessment.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    An offer or rejection is sent within one week.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    Because the full hiring process includes a background check, we typically plan for two weeks.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

    The goal of our hiring process is for both parties to feel confident that entering into the partnership is mutually beneficial. We know that making the decision about where to invest your time, talent, and energy is not one that can be made lightly. We welcome all questions and conversations.

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Our shop is heated in cold weather.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    We currently have 8 Main-Line Technicians and six Express Maintenance Technicians on our team.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Our shop hours are 8:00am-5:30pm Monday-Saturday.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    We have a large supply of specialty tools.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    We have several break rooms, one with a full kitchen.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    16

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    1600

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Parts are ordered electronically through our Multipoint Inspection and Additional Service Recommendations software. Our technicians do not have to leave their bays to price or order parts, or send recommendations and quotes to our Service Advisors.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Employees involved in or contemplating outside work should discuss the issue with their supervisor. Despite any outside employment or business venture, employees are still required to perform their duties with the company. Generally, outside employment will be approved if it: ● Does not conflict with your responsibilities at the company, including your ability to work overtime as required in your position. ● Does not interfere with your performance at the company. ● Does not prove detrimental to the interest of the company. ● Does not involve a conflict of interest, or the appearance of a conflict of interest (such as working for a competitor, vendor, or customer); and ● Does not involve the use of confidential or proprietary information of the company or its customers.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    The culture of our Service Department is very unique in its positivity and focus on the personal growth and development of all of our team members. We build life-long careers and relationships within our organization, and are looking for new team members who are driven to succeed.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    We offer ongoing training through Toyota, as well as scholarships for other advanced learning opportunities and tuition reimbursement.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Our Technicians are guided through training and advancement opportunities by our Shop Manager and Service Manager.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Standard vehicle lift and OSHA-required training are provided.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    In addition to our structured mentorship program, we have a strong culture of community and shared learning. Our more experienced tech take pride and responsibility in taking on mentor and leadership roles to help newer or less-experienced members of our team.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    The Ehrlich Family has a long tradition of supporting and giving back to the communities where we do business. We provide financial support to many non-profit organizations in our communities, and partner with other locally-owned businesses to help encourage their growth as well.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    We have a strong relationship with the automotive program at our local community college.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    In five years I expect that our shop will have doubled in size and capacity.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $75,000 - $120,000/year

    Our technicians are on a flat-rate pay plan, so the opportunity for earning is unlimited.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $52,000 - $75,000/year

    Our technicians are on a flat-rate pay plan, so the opportunity for earning is unlimited.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $38,000 - $52,000/year

    Our technicians are on a flat-rate pay plan, so the opportunity for earning is unlimited.

  • Lube Technician
    Pay Range: $32,000 - $40,000/year

    Our Express Maintenance Technicians are paid hourly plus a performance-based bonus.
