Hiring Process
  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    -The shop is heated in the winter, and we have swamp coolers to help keep it cool during the summers.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    -Will depend on the level of technician. A-Tech 3-4 with 2 Service Advisor B-Tech 3-4 with 2 Service Advisor C-Tech 3-4 with 2 Service Advisor Lube Tech works with a team of 5-6 techs

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    -7:30-5:30 (Monday-Friday) -8:00-4:30 (Saturday), Rotating shift -Willing to modify 4 ten hour days for mainline technicians, long weekends

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    -Full toolboxes are provided for C-Techs and Lube Techs -All Toyota specialty tools, and required tools are provided including diagnostic equipment

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    -Fridge, microwave, sink, and TV with cable

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    -20 lifts -2 Lube pits -1 Alignment rack

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    -2,500-3,000 per month

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    -Techs can order parts individually or let their advisors take care of the order. It's all done digitally with 95% of orders coming overnight.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    -On a case by case basis, and it must be approved.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    -We are a family owned and operated business, with rapid growth opportunities. Our rotating scheduling includes a three day and four day weekend every month. Only have to work two Saturday's a month!

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    -Yes, paid for by the dealership. We also reimburse for ASEs, and give a bonus for the first time receiving each certificate.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    -Willing to train from the ground up and promote within. Techs that want to grow in our industry have the opportunity to advance quickly with financial help from our team.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    -We currently do not do reviews. However, quarterly reviews will be coming shortly.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    -We use CompliGo which is a website that teaches safety and best practices.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    -Technician will work in a bay next to an A-Tech. They will receive split time from the jobs they complete with an A-Tech.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    -We sponsor an abundance of youth athletics (baseball, and soccer)

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    -Not currently

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    -We are currently in the process of adding a second location. This will include quadruple capacity of the express bays, and 20% more service advisors.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    -N/A

  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    -Yes, online and paper form. It only takes about 5 minutes to complete.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    -Quick phone call to set up an interview time. No real actual screen through phone conversations.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    -Technician will meet with both Service Managers to discuss skills, certifications, background and personality.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    -Yes

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    -No, they will shadow the first few days and will be monitored for a short time.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    -A decision will be mad within 24-48 hours.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    -Couple of days (1-3)

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $100,000 - $140,000/year

    -Based on flat-rate dollars an hour. $27.00-$32.00 based on certificates, training and experience -Relocation negotiable for qualified candidates

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $80,000/year

    -Based on flat-rate dollars an hour. $18.00-$26.00 based on certificates, training and experience -Relocation negotiable for qualified candidates

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $30,000 - $40,000/year

    -Flat-rate pay structure. Sliding scale structure that depends on hours flagged. Range varies from $14.00-$18.00

  • Lube Technician
    Pay Range: $27,000 - $30,000/year

    -Technician paid hourly. Advancement opportunities within will help pay increase rapidly.

Health Insurance Offered Insurance kicks in after 30 days. We pay 75% of the employee's premium. Pacific Source is our health care provider.

ST / LT Disability Offered We offer life insurance, accidental coverage and long term disability after 30 days of employment. Short term disability is available after 6 months.
Life Insurance Offered Life insurance in the amount of $10,000 is provided for all active employees by the dealership.
Uniforms Offered -11 shirts -11 Pants -2 Jackets We use Toyota sponsored uniforms, and weekly laundry/cleaning services are covered by the dealership.
