Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Our application takes no more than 10 minutes to complete. It reviews basic information such as personal info, work history, etc.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    As needed

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    Candidates will meet with the branch manager and/or mobile manager, who will get to know the candidate more to ensure they are a good fit for the team.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Background check and DMV check will be performed

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    The skill assessment is done verbally during the interview.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    We try to make a decision as quickly as possible, and the hiring decision may sometimes be made on the spot after the interview.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    There are anywhere from 8-15 team members in each of our shops.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    First shift runs 7:30am - 5:00pm, Monday-Friday. This time may vary by 30 minutes depending on location. Our Mobile techs have a more flexible schedule. We will work with your availability and preferences, such as if you would like to work evenings/weekends or work 4 10-hour shifts instead of 5 8-hour shifts each week.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    Our shop supplies larger equipment and specialty tools - we will ensure a tech has whatever they need to get the job done. We use OEM software and hope to continue advancing our shop's technology. Additionally, we help younger techs build their toolboxes by providing them with $2,000-$2,500, which they can repay us over a year.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Our break room is comfortable with standard amenities such as a table, chairs, microwave, refrigerator, etc.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    Our shops normally range from having 6-12 bays

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    -

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Technicians write up the parts needed, and will submit a paper form to the Parts Associate. We have $1 million in parts inventory! The part will be given to the tech if in stock. We work on every make and model of all different vehicles (all truck to fire engines and even school buses!) so we have a variety of parts available.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Side work may be done as long as it does not interfere with the business.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    We have a casual work environment. Our employees are like family, so we strive to make it a great workplace. There is an open door policy and we ensure there is regular 2-way communication with management.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    We provide hands-on training on an ongoing basis. No matter what technician level someone is at, we want to help them grow. Also, we are an authorized Cummins dealer.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    We always try to promote from within! Along with training provided to help techs grow to the next level, we have service and managerial positions someone can transition into.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    We review new hire performance at 30 days and again at 90 days. Annual reviews are provided. Pay increases will be discussed during performance reviews, which cover both strengths and areas for improvement.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Safety is a priority for our shop. Training is provided to all employees as needed. We provide an annual allowance for steel-toed boots and eyeglasses.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Our seasoned technicians help and support younger techs to help them grow. We enjoy working with new techs right out of vocational programs, and they will be trained by senior techs.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We want to invest in our community and add value to the lives of others. Along with being a part of the local Chamber of Commerce, we sponsor community events and actively collaborate with schools. We are always looking to increase our shop's diversity and bring in new staff from a variety of communities.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    We collaborate with several vocational schools in the area and will hire students after finishing a program. We also work with Future Farmers of America for any youth who may want to join us and grow with us.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We hope to continue growing! We've recently opened 2 new facilities in Columbus and moved into our Circleville location under a year ago. We are looking into expanding in the Springfield area. Additionally we hope to build on our partnerships and become more involved with the community.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    We welcome all technicians who want to expand their knowledge base. Our shop is a great place to gain training and experience.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $57,000 - $74,000/year

    Compensation is flat rate and dependent on certifications, training, experience, efficiency, etc. Hourly pay for an A Level technician can range from $27- $35/hour. Our shop pays more for ASEs: 25 cents per certification + $2/hour additional when you receive all 7 ASEs. We will also increase pay if you have your CDL. Our shop will pay for you receiving your CDL and for the cost of ASE certification tests.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $57,000/year

    Compensation is flat rate and dependent on certifications, training, experience, efficiency, etc. Hourly pay for a B Level technician can range from $23- $27/hour. Our shop pays more for ASEs: 25 cents per certification + $2/hour additional when you receive all 7 ASEs. We will also increase pay if you have your CDL. Our shop will pay for you receiving your CDL and for the cost of ASE certification tests.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $38,000 - $50,000/year

    Compensation is flat rate and dependent on certifications, training, experience, efficiency, etc. Hourly pay for a C Level technician can range from $18- $23/hour. Our shop pays more for ASEs: 25 cents per certification + $2/hour additional when you receive all 7 ASEs. We will also increase pay if you have your CDL. Our shop will pay for you receiving your CDL and for the cost of ASE certification tests.

  • Student Tech / Apprentice
    Pay Range: $32,000 - $37,000/hour

    Compensation is flat rate and dependent on certifications, training, experience, efficiency, etc. Hourly pay can range from $15- $17/hour. Our shop pays more for ASEs: 25 cents per certification + $2/hour additional when you receive all 7 ASEs. We will also increase pay if you have your CDL. Our shop will pay for you receiving your CDL and for the cost of ASE certification tests.

Health Insurance Offered Health insurance is effective the 1st of the month after employment begins. Provider: Medical Mutual HSA contribution available
Dental Insurance Offered Dental insurance is effective the 1st of the month after employment begins. Provider: Principal

Sick Leave Offered Sick leave is included in PTO (paid time off) policy. Time off is accrued the 1st day of every quarter (every 3 months). There are 3 levels of PTO dependent on length of employment: 24 hours per quester, 34 hours per quarter, and 44 hours per quarter 40 hours of PTO can be carried over at the end of the year. We can be flexible with additional time off if needed (i.e. preplanned vacations)
