From Passenger vehicles to Class 8 trucks and off-highway equipment, Diesel Forward services all makes and models of diesel vehicles and equipment. We staff our eight-bay service center with the best trained and equipped technicians in the area. Our well-kept, state of the art shop includes a wash bay, overhead crane and heated shop floor. To minimize downtime, we carry a full inventory of OEM and aftermarket parts, and operate our own fuel injection equipment services lab.
We do have an application form on our website, www.dieselforward.com that takes about 15 minutes to fill out.
We do a phone screen with applicants before in-person interviews.
We spend some time telling the applicant about Diesel Forward and what sets us apart from others in the industry, for both customers and employees. We also want to learn about the applicant and what their short and long terms goals are for their career. We talk in detail about the position and job duties as well.
We perform background checks and drug screens before hiring.
We do not perform a skill assessment before hiring.
The typical time between interview and an offer or rejection is about one week. We also try to give the applicant a more specific expectation of what the timeline is during the interview process.
The approximate timeline from start to finish ranges from two to four weeks.
Our HR team is very professional and will keep the applicant informed throughout the hiring process.
The shop has in-floor and radiant heating.
The team consists of eight technicians and two service writers, as well as one shop foreman and one shop manager.
Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7AM to 5PM. We have options for 4-10 hour and 5-8 hour shifts.
The shop supplies engine specific tools, transmission flushing machines, A/C recovery machines, engine stands, multiple parts washers, overhead crane and two-post and four-post lifts for use by all technicians.
Our breakroom is a clean, air conditioned area seperate from the shop to allow the techs to get a true break. The breakroom is complete with vending machines, refridgerators, microwaves, pizza oven, coffee makers and filtered water.
Eight full-service bays.
The technician compiles a list of parts needed for the repair after diagnosing. The technician provides this list to the service writer who will order the parts as needed allowing the technician to move on to another job.
We are flexible with side work as long as the work is not being performed for a current Diesel Forward customer. Side work is not allowed at the facility or with the use of company owned tools.
Our facility also has a fully equipped workout center for employee use.
We are continuously looking for training opportunities on current and new vehicles, and offering that training to our technicians.
There are many opportunities for growth within Diesel Forward. Either through the ranks of the shop, or branching out into our other departments. Technical Support - Providing diagnostic support to technicians across the country via phone and email. Sales - Inside and outside sales opportunities. Manufacturing - We have a remanufacturing facility where there are opportunities in our product test group and new product development areas.
We have a 90 day review process for all new hire employees. Then there is a structured annual review process thereafter, with check-ins throughout the year.
Our technicians participate in scheduled safety training sessions on equipment usage as well as shop best practices. Drive out service technicians are also required to participate in MSHA training. Diesel Forward also offers optional CPR training to all employees.
Experienced technicians, foreman and managers are all mentors to new and less experienced technicians with a goal to help them grow and succeed within the company and industry.
Diesel Forward supports many community organizations through a charitable giving committee that determines, based on feedback and request from other employees, which organizations to support on a year over year basis.
Diesel Forward supports local schools, with members of the service department actively engaged on the diesel advisory committee at Madison College.
The customer base of the shop continues to grow year over year, with both drive in and drive out service.

The most highly skilled and experienced technician. An A level technician has the knowledge to diagnose and repair with no assistance on all applications.
Highly skilled and experienced technician. A B level technician has the knowledge to diagnose and repair with little to no assistance on most applications.
Skilled and experience technician. A C level technician has the knowledge to perform routine maintenance as well as diagnose and repair some applications with some assistance.
Pay structure is based off experience, performance and customer satisfaction. The service advisor has vast product and vehicle knowledge and the ability to explain diagnosis and repair procedures and information with the customer.
Pay is based on experience and amount of schooling completed. Tuition reimbursement plans are available.
