Lithia Motors Inc. started in 1946 in Ashland, OR as a small Chrysler store and has evolved into the 2nd largest dealership group in the nation with over 250 locations to serve our customers DCH Gardena Honda has been established since 1981 and has conducted outstanding work since then. DCH Gardena Honda strives to hold an impressive reputation centered on offering every customer and employee a remarkable experience. The fixed operations management team is one of our most impressive departments and is now going on the team’s 15 year anniversary. Although this department has been around for merely 15 years, in 2015 , DCH Gardena Honda remodeled the department entirely in efforts to maintain the venture of improved efficiency. Our department now holds two customer lounges and other outstanding renovations. In addition to renovations, our Service department has grown to hold a total of 37 bays. DCH Gardena Honda has great aspirations to better both the working environment and the futures of our employees. Since 1981, a large amount employees have testified that there are ample opportunities present at DCH Gardena Honda for elevating their careers due to the continuous efforts to better our establishment. Many employees have embodied numerous advantages within their careers due to our implementation of apprenticeship programs. DCH Gardena places great emphasize on technicians completing a Honda Certification Program in which they will become a Master Technician. This training is made possible through our four team leaders who focus their time on implementing trainings that are centered on efficiency and hands on training. Additionally, DCH Gardena Honda eagerly strives for the proficiency of technicians and in doing so, our technicians have access to special tools, essentials, and access to their own lift that holds major space for large tools and toolboxes. In adjunction to these everyday opportunities made available when working at DCH Gardena Honda, we have established great benefits for technicians which includes but is not limited to a 401K, access to employee stocks, paid vacations, Medical, Dental, Vision, and a 90 sign on bonus.

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Shop is well ventilated.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    21 Main Line Technicians 5 Express Technicians

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    M - F 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Shifts 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM S 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM rotating Saturday shifts.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    We provide all Honda MFG. Specialty tools including computers and diagnostic software. Technicians are expected to have their own tools and box.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Air conditioned break room with fridge, microwave and TV. Locker Room provided for technicians.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    36

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    3400

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Parts are requested electronically and delivered to technician via parts runners.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    We do not allow side work to be done on site as it is an insurance issue.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Shop pays for completed and passed ASEs. Shop pays for MFG training both on site and off premise including : Travel, Lodging, Food, and time at class.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Our mission statement is Growth Powered By People! How far you go depends on you and your drive. We have had many techs become service managers and service managers become fixed operations directors and even general managers!

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Performance Reviews are each done at service manager's discretion.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Monthly safety meetings. On-line safety training at hire. Safety committee on site.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Our senior technicians are afforded the opportunity to mentor new and upcoming techs.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    All Lithia stores are very involved in community events. Lithia Motors Inc. has great national community involvement including Lithia 4 Kids.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Our local stores and national recruiters are very involved with local High School vocational programs . Lithia Motors Inc. is a preferred employer at all national vocational schools.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    YOY growth has been incredible and projected to continue through the next 5 years. We are also implementing on-line service and sales through our new Driveway division!

  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    We do have an online application and it usually takes less than 20 minutes to complete.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Applicants are phone screened by a recruiter and then an in person or phone interview is scheduled with the service manager.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    One on one question and answer with the service manager and shop foreman if available.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Assessments may be conducted prior to offer. Background, MVR and Drug Screens are conducted after offer and with hire being contingent to outcome.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    There are some assessments that are performed on line.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    We try to keep in contact with our candidates and a rejection or offer is usually made within a week.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    Depending on the number of applicants it usually takes less than a week.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $78,000 - $113,000/year

    Flat Rate Honda Certified Technician Proficient in diagnosis and electrical.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $76,000/year

    Flat Rate Experienced Technician proficient in engine and transmission work. Honda certified preferred.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $42,000 - $58,000/year

    Flat Rate technician some dealership experience ready for training. Able to perform minor repair and maintenance.

  • Service Advisor
    Pay Range: $65,000 - $150,000/year

    Commission based pay plan based on experience and production.
