Cummins FlexTech is designed to connect technicians in the industry to Cummins work at the push of a button. You can put your technical skills to work and earn extra cash. As an independent contractor, you pick the assignments you want to do, at times that are convenient for you. Assignment opportunities are wide-ranging. You will be working on standard Cummins engine repairs and related components or assisting with Power Gen services. How It Works Participating Cummins locations will post available work to a mobile app. When that happens, you will receive a notification on your mobile device. You will be able to see: a description of the work, whether the assignment is at a Cummins location or in the field, when the assignment needs to be completed, and how much you will earn. You will have the opportunity to accept, decline, or counteroffer. When you counteroffer, you can negotiate the assignment rate, or propose a time that better fits your schedule. When you accept an assignment, you’ll arrive onsite, complete the assignment, verify with the local Cummins service team, then pack up your tools. You are paid in as little as 48 hours. Become A FlexTech We’ve partnered with WorkMarket to make becoming a FlexTech easy. To start the process, register at cumminsflextech.com. After you register, you will complete a few basic requirements via the WorkMarket platform.     FlexTechs will receive job assignments with varying times. They can accept any assignment that fits within their schedule and decline assignments that don't fit.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    Technicians should have basic tools of their own. Some specialty tools and diagnostics equipment can be provided by the location when needed.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Parts are supplied through Cummins parts network. Tech will order parts needed for repairs and we will receive as soon as possible.

    Since FlexTechs are contractors, they are allowed to accept other work assignments.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    As independent contractors, FlexTechs are not eligible for formal training as part of the program (by law). However, being a FlexTech will provide opportunities to work on a wide range of assignments. This will allow technicians the opportunity to sharpen their skills while participating in the FlexTech program.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Cummins FlexTechs are independent contractors, not Cummins-employees. Working as a Cummins FlexTech is not a prerequisite to becoming a Cummins employee. If you are interested in full-time employment with Cummins you can visit careers.cummins.com. You can also always choose to become a Cummins FlexTech now and later apply for full-time employment at Cummins down the road when you’re ready. Current Cummins employees are not eligible for Cummins FlexTech.

Use your smart phone to download the WorkMarket mobile app. Alternatively, all necessary steps can also be completed at workmarket.com.

    It is at the discretion of the manager. Usually conversation would include background, experience, and what they are looking for.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    There are several basic requirements including things such as watching an online overview, uploading a valid driver’s license, completing a background check, and drug screening.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    You will complete a Trade Assistant Assignment at the Cummins Sales and Service location. This process typically takes 5-7 days from start to finish. Once the Trade Assistant assignment has been completed, registered FlexTechs are typically invited to accept a wider variety of assignments based on their skills.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Within one week

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    This depends on how quickly you complete the basic requirements. It's possible to become fully registered and begin working FlexTech assignments in as little as 1 week.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $0 - $0/year

    FlexTechs are paid by the assignment. You will receive assignments through the mobile app and have the ability to accept, decline or counter offer. Assignments vary in terms of the type of work and skill level required.
