With previous experience working for engine distribution centers and other large OEM’s in replacement engine sales and service, our founder Scott Schlabach took those experiences and knowledge and focused the company on remanufacturing replacement engines. Supported by Kubota Engine Division, a leading OEM of compact diesel and gasoline engines for a vast number of industries, Country Sales and Service offers exclusivity in servicing this highly established line of engines and associated parts. As an Authorized Kubota Engine Retailer and Service Facility, we stock new and remanufactured Kubota engines including a wide range of new engine parts to repower or repair specific applications such as mowers, excavators, pavers, sweepers, loaders, trenchers, skid loaders, tractors, and all Kubota Equipment. Our 18,000 sq. ft. warehouse stocks a complete inventory of all parts and accessories associated with the Kubota line of engine products. Country Sales & Service supports many equipment brands with remanufactured Kubota, Cummins, Kohler Diesel, Yanmar, Shibaura, Caterpillar, John Deere & Wacker-Neuson engines throughout the United States, Canada and South America. From our humble beginnings on the family farm to the manufacturing facilities Country Sales & Service occupies today, we feel very blessed and thankful for each and every one we work with. Hiring Process
  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Yes, our shop is fully climate controlled.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    Our typical team ranges from 3-10 employees based on department.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Weekends and holidays off.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    All diesel technicians will be required to have a basic set of tools and box. Any specialty tools are provided by the company.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Our break room includes a refrigerator, microwave, ice & water. Coffee is provided for all employees.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    We have multiple departments to include; Disassembly Staging Machine Shop Injection Shop Assembly (Build Room) Parts Sales Service

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    Our company produces, on average, 25 remanufactured engines per week.

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    All parts request are submitted to and filled by the parts department.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    We have no policy on side work, though all employees will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    All eligible employees are offered the opportunity to receive OEM training and certifications. All training is paid for by the company, including online and in person training.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Employees are offered the opportunity to increase their skills, knowledge and responsibilities within the company. On occasion, eligible employees may be given the opportunity to cross-train in other disciplines.

    Employees are reviewed after the initial 90 day probation period and an annually thereafter.

    N/A

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Each new technician will be partnered with an experienced technician during the initial 90 day probation period. They will work side by side with the experienced technician in order to learn company procedures and processes.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We sponsor local youth sports teams & partner with various local charities via donations, manpower & equipment.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    In partnership with Kubota, we have partnered with Ohio State University & our local technical schools to develop a program that introduces students to the industry and encourages and supports their continued studies.

    Yes, we typically speak with all applicants via telephone prior to scheduling an interview.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    Our in person interviews typically take 30 minutes and include: a detailed description of the job duties, a tour of the facility and/or potential department, a verification of information provided by applicants resumé or application, and an opportunity to answer any questions an applicant may have.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    We perform a basic background check. We do not require a pre-employment drug screening, but we do perform random drug testing.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    An applicant will/may be required to provide a demonstration of skills representative of the position being applied for.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    An applicant will typically receive a response with in 72 hours.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    The hiring process takes approximately 7-10 days.

    Please be on time for an interview. We understand life happens, but if you are running late or can not make the scheduled interview time, please contact us. Applicants will not be seen if prior notice is not received before the scheduled interview time.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $43,000 - $50,000/year

    Candidates should have 6-8+ years of experience in the repair, service and remanufacture of diesel engines. Must have experience & demonstrate proficiency with diagnostic software, ability to read electrical wiring diagrams & knowledge of common rail fuel systems. OEM certifications or technical training required.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $37,000 - $40,000/year

    Candidates should have 4-6 years of experience in the repair, service and remanufacture of diesel engines. Should have basic experience and be familiar with diagnostic software, electrical wiring diagrams & common rail fuel systems. OEM certifications or technical training a plus.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $31,200 - $34,000/year

    Candidates should have 1-3 years of experience in the repair, service and remanufacture of diesel engines. Should be able to explain the operation of a diesel engine & identify all engine components. Employee will be placed with an experienced mentor and trained in company process & procedures in order to complete initial training. Knowledge of diagnostic software, electrical wiring diagrams & common rail fuel systems or OEM certifications/technical training a plus.

  • Disassembly Technician
    Pay Range: $27,500 - $34,500/year

    Candidates should have 1-3 years of experience with diesel engines. Candidates should be able to explain the operation of a diesel engine & identify all engine components. Employee will be placed with an experienced mentor and trained in company process & procedures in order to complete initial training. The technician will, under the supervision of the Disassembly Manager, be responsible for the disassembly, inspection and cleaning of diesel engines. Will be required to accurately and correctly document all phases of the disassembly process and provide a detailed report of work performed. Additional duties include, but are not limited to; loading/unloading of customers, loading/unloading of trucks or any other duties as required by the position. Tools Provided. Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00pm. Weekends off. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule. Country Sales and Service is an OEM certified diesel engine remanufacturer servicing multiple brands and industries. Interested candidates must have a strong work ethic, a high level of attention to detail, be organized, maintain a clean work environment and be team oriented with an excellent record of attendance and punctuality. Candidates must have a working knowledge of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Etc.) and the ability to learn an inventory management system in order to perform the duties required of the position.

  • A Level Machinist Technician
    Pay Range: $43,000 - $47,500/year

    Candidates for this position must have 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in a machine shop. Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred. Candidate must have excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail, experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.), ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to take accurate measurements, ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals, and monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications.

  • B Level Machinist Technician
    Pay Range: $33,500 - $39,500/year

    Candidates for this position must have 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a machine shop. Vocational school or apprenticeship a plus. Candidate must have excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail, experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.), ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to take accurate measurements, ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals, and monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications.

  • Diesel Fuel Injection Technician
    Pay Range: $29,000 - $37,500/year

    Candidates should have 1-2+ years of experience with diesel fuel systems and/or a mechanical background in diesel engines. Candidates should be able to explain the operation of diesel injection pumps, injectors & turbochargers and be able to identify the related components. Should have experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and fuel injection testing machines. Experience with common rail fuel systems a plus!

  • Warehouse Associate
    Pay Range: $29,000 - $37,500/year

    Candidates for this position should have 3-5+ years of experience in a high-volume, fast paced warehousing environment. Must be able to accurately interpret parts diagrams and possess a high level of attention to detail. Candidate must be proficient in the operation of forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment. Certification preferred.

Vacation Offered Employees are provided vacation after 1 year of employment which increases with continued employment as seen below; 1-3 years of employment, employees accrue 1 week (40 hours) of vacation. 4-5 years of employment, employees accrue 2 weeks (80 hours) of vacation. 5+ years of employment, employees accrue 3 weeks (120 hours) of vacation.

Uniforms Offered Employees are provided cleaned uniforms by the company, which is serviced by Cintas on a weekly basis. Employees are provided with 2 sets of uniforms (pants & shirts), in addition to company provided t-shirts, sweatshirts and hats.
Other Offered We also offer an employee bonus program for eligible employees. The bonus program is calculated using the employees recovery rate & performance.
