Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    We have an online application that takes about 10 minutes to complete.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    We do not normally, but would be able to if preferred by the candidate.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    The in-person interview will be a time for the candidate to get to know us, while we also find out more about the candidate's experience, strengths, personality, and parts of the job they enjoy most.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    We conduct background checks and a pre-employment physical screening.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    A verbal skill assessment is done during the interview.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Within a week or less - we try to make a decision as quickly as possible, but do need the checks to come back clear before making an offer.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    About 1 week

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    The shop is both heated and air conditioned

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    We have 20 technicians currently on our team.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Shop hours are Monday-Thursday 7:00am - 6:00pm, and Friday-Saturday 7:00am - 5:00pm. Monday-Thursday, some days will end at 4:00pm for flexibility. Express technicians work Saturdays but line technicians rotate Saturdays, and if working the weekend, will have a day off during the week.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    We have state-of-the-art equipment for technicians to use. Express technician toolboxes, owned by the shop, are available already loaded.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Our break room includes a big screen TV, soda machine, microwave, toaster oven, 2 refrigerators, table, chairs, and a locker area.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    23 bays

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    About 2300

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Technicians will go into the Parts Department on-site and order anything needed. If parts are not in stock, they will generally be available by the next morning. We are fortunate to be very close to a distribution site.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Not allowed

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    We are a family-owned shop where everyone works together well. Our owner knows each staff member - we're not just a number, but part of a cohesive team. Our shop has an annual Employee Appreciation luncheon, where the owner, CFO, and General Manager will cook for staff. Our team recognizes work anniversaries after 5 years, and staff receive cash, prizes, and even tickets to sporting events!

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Yes, we encourage training. Toyota has a good variety of e-module training that technicians will be able to take. We are very fortunate that we have a Toyota training facility close to our shop only about 20 minutes away! Also, we will pay for any ASE certification tests and provide a bonus for tests the technician passes.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    We are always looking to grow technicians and promote from within. We help our techs with training needed and to get experience, hopefully growing our staff into Master Technicians.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    For new hires, we perform a 30-day and 60-day review.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    We conduct OSHA "Right to Know" safety training on an annual basis.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Newer technicians will get a "buddy" to support them, provide mentorship, answer questions, and review their work if wanted. We have a friendly team atmosphere and enjoy supporting each other. A Master technician may earn additional compensation if mentoring a newer technician on the job.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We are heavily involved in local schools, supporting vocational programs. We love getting involved in community events, such as the "Buckle Up for Life" program where we partnered with the Brockton Police Department to provide free car seats and installation right at our dealership.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Our shop owner is heavily involved in local schools, sitting on 5 vocational school Advisory Boards. We also sponsor a paid internship program for a local high school.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We are a busy shop, but hope to be busier! We need more technicians to make this happen and are looking to hire. Also, we hope to be more involved in local schools, developing a new generation of technicians.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    Whether it's supporting school programs, sponsoring events, or helping with donations, we are proud to be a staple in the Brockton community.
