  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    It is heated and A/C Controlled

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    Team size is in the range of 7-10 associates

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    8-5 Monday thru Friday. Offer a 1 hour lunch Monday thru Friday One Saturday a month 8-2

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    Toolboxes are provided, scan tools for the shop are there for assistance

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    We have a 20x30 breakroom with a refrigerator and vending machines with healthy snacks

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    We have an 18 bay shop

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    Average is 200 Repair Orders per month

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Our Parts Manager is responsible for ordering parts and manages that process onsite

  • What is your policy on side work?

    We do not want our associates to complete side work. Associates can work on their vehicles after they have completed their shift

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    We always offer continued education to ensure that our technicians are learning the latest technology and to keep engaged in their craft

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    There are many directions that our associates can move into. As an example, one of our technicians in our Chester Springs location started as a tech, moved into the Service Department, then was promoted to a General Manager of the Chester Spring Location

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    All of our associates are reviewed after 18 months of service in their position.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    We adhere to all of the required safety precautions necessary to ensure our workplace supports the safety of our technicians

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    We are always offering opportunities to less experienced technicians as our Senior Technicians are great mentors to support our growing team members

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    We serve our local community so we support our local community

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    We attend as many hiring events as possible to attract local students for part time opportunities and apprenticeship programs!

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    Growing, improving processes, adding more technicians to the team as our business grows. CarShop has a whole will be expanding in other areas of the US over the course of the next years. This would allow opportunities to relocate to other areas if interested into new roles.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

    Check out reviews on Glass door. We stand out due to our Culture, and the way we treat our people. We don't sell cars the same way traditional dealership do, and we don't manage our people the traditional way. We promote from within, support you, and treat you with respect along with offering you the opportunity to work on a variety of cars.

  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    We do have a CarShop application that you can complete as part of our interview process. This application is designed to ask the standard questions, but also to ask questions to get to know you as a person.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Yes. We phone interview candidates first before scheduling an onsite interview.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    Our onsite interviews include an interview with the Service Manager, tour of the shop, and a final interview with the General Manager of the store.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Yes. We send out a Talent Management Assessment entitled Predictive Index, and we do have contingent offers based off of the results of the background check and drug screens.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    We do not perform a formal skills assessment before hiring an applicant.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    After an in person interview, it will take at most up to 72 hours to either receive a rejection or an offer.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    Less than a week

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

    We do walk our candidates around to meet not only potential co-workers, but to get a feel for the environment and culture. We are truly invested in our people, and want to ensure you get the full picture of what it is like to work at CarShop.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $95,000/year ($24.04 - $45.67/hr)
    ($24.04 - $45.67/hr)

    Compensation is flat rate for our A Level Technicians and based on efficiency and experience.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $45,000 - $95,000/year ($21.63 - $45.67/hr)
    ($21.63 - $45.67/hr)

    Compensation is flat rate for our B Level Technicians. Compensation based on efficiency and experience.

  • C Level Technician
    Pay Range: $35,000 - $40,000/year ($16.83 - $19.23/hr)
    ($16.83 - $19.23/hr)

    Compensation is hourly rate
