Hiring Process
  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    The Bud Clary Ford Shop is heated. There is not AC within the shop, however Bud Clary does provide Swamp Coolers that have been refurbished to new working conditions.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    Bud Clary currently has a team of 7 main shop Technicians and 2 Express Lube Technicians.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Shop hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm, Saturdays are optional if Technicians need extra time to finish repairs.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    Bud Clary Auto Group provides fluid exchange machines from MOC (POWER STEERING, BRAKE FLUID, ATF, COOLANT, DIFFERENTIAL AND T-CASE) Heated parts cleaners, on-vehicle brake lathe, alignment rack, quick alignment check station, Hunter tire machine and laser balancer, heat induction gun for frozen bolts, most current ford special tools, VCM-III for main shop techs, brand new VCMM, each tech has their own laptop, 2-1/2 ton engine hoists, car dollies, fork lift, rotating engine stand, R134 refrigerant exchanger, y1234yf refrigerant exchanger, welder, hydraulic press

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    In out break room we offer a fill size refrigerator to store your lunch and drink, a toaster, and a full size microwave. We have table and chairs for you to relax and enjoy your breaks and lunches.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    14 main shop service bays (one is a flat bay with no lift), 2 express lube bays, 1 alignment bay, and 1 outside lift bay.

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    Bud Clary will process an average of 400-500 repairs each month.

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Technicians will put in a request for price and availability of the part needed and quotes labor time involved to repair the vehicle. The parts department quotes the part and returns the form to the advisor who opened the repair order. The advisor determines the price of the labor based on the Technicians time. If the job is approved, the advisor highlights the parts that have been approved to be ordered and indicates on the form whether or not the customer will be rescheduled by our BDC when the parts arrive, or if the vehicle is down in the shop and the parts arrive slip is given to the advisor who then informs the dispatcher.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    Side work is not to be done using the Bud Clary shop or special tools, and the Technician is not to be taking work away from the dealership.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    Bud Clary prides themselves in having a Clean and Organized shop.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Bud Clary offers on the job training working within technician teams. Bud Clary also supports Technicians with Ford Factory Training.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Bud Clary supports promoting within the company and supports inner company training. Bud Clary has several job levels to works towards in the service department, starting form Lot Attendants to Lube Techs to Experienced Master Techs.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Bud Clary offers several forms of performance discussions, ranging from casual coaching and reviews to annual performance reviews.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Bud Clary makes safety a priority in our company. Upon hire and annually employees undergo basic safety training. The basic safety training is Hazardous communication, safe driving, PPE, Lift training, Forklift training, We focus on safety topics each month, a different topic each month, Shop safety meetings each month. We also have safety committees that offer resources and education to employees We keep up to date on safety inspections and maintenance.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Entry Level or C level Techs have the opportunity to work with a team of Experienced level or A and B level Techs. Bud Clary offers regular opportunities for coaching and advancement.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    Bud Clary enjoys in participating in the local community. We partner with companies during Christmas with Giving Tree's to joining in local parades. All employees through the dealership participate in these event as well .

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Bud Clary communicates with local Community Colleges and Tech Programs in the area and posts applicable jobs on those college job boards.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    Bud Clary would like to be operating with 5 years more experience across the board with tight process that all staff follow, which creates a positive work environment and a more profitable shop.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    Yes, The application process takes approximately 30 mins to completely fill out. This can be done online or in person.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Not at this time.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    Bud Clary in-person interviews are done directly with the service manager. The service manager will show the potential new Technician the shop and introduce them to any Technicians that may be working that day. The service manager will also show the potential new hire the equipment that we provide for them to use.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Bud Clary is a drug free establishment and requires all applicants to do a pre employment drug screening before hire.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    Not at this time.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    Applicants can expect to receive a job offer approximately one week after the in-person interview has been completed.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    This process can take anywhere form one to two weeks.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

    At Bud Clary Auto Group we try to make the hiring process as easy as possible.

  • Express Lube Technician
    Pay Range: $15 - $20/hour

    Efficiently and productively performs vehicle maintenance procedures such as tire changes, oil changes, transmission flushes, and fuel injections.

  • Entry Level Technician
    Pay Range: $20 - $28/hour

    Entry level technician is responsible for performing vehicle repairs and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

  • Experienced Level Technician
    Pay Range: $20 - $40/hour

    An experienced technician is responsible for performing vehicle repairs and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Health Insurance Offered Kaiser Permanente Medical Coverage is offered to employees after their first 90 days of employment. We have plan options for Employee only, Employee plus Spouse, Employee plus Children, and Employee plus Family. Bud Clary also offers a Point of Service Plan which gives you the option to see doctors outside of the Kaiser Network.
Dental Insurance Offered Bud Clary offers Dental coverage to employees only after their first 90 days of employment at no cost to them. Employees have the option to chose between Delta Dental and Willamette Dental. Their are additional plan options if an employee chooses to add their Souse or Children to his coverage.
Vision Insurance Offered Vision Insurance is part of the Medical Coverage.
