  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    We have an application that takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    While a phone screening isn't necessary, we are open to it if preferred by the candidate.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    We aim to learn about the candidate - both personally and professionally. We discuss if the candidate has their own tools as well. We'll provide a walk-through of the shop to give the candidate an idea of the workspace.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Drug screening is performed

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    A verbal assessment is done during the interview.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    3-5 days

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    It is heated, and normally very comfortable in the summer months because of our temperate climate.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    We have 5 flat rate techs and 3 hourly techs they would be working with.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    Our shop hours are 8:00 am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday, and 8:00am - 3:00pm Saturdays. We are flexible with shift times (especially if needed for easier commuting). Our Saturdays are usually covered by a team, but we are open to Saturday shifts if you are interested.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    We provide GM specialty tools and major tools needed.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    We have a break room above the shop with basic amenities and couches. We will soon be going through a remodel for the shop and main building, which will improve the facility.

  • How many bays does your shop have?

    17

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    475

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Each tech has a computer, and our system links to the parts department. That department rep will walk parts directly over to the tech.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    May be possible if approved by management ahead of time.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    We have a great working environment with a team that is always willing to help one another out. Being a small, locally owned dealership, we pride ourselves on customer service and serving our community.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Yes, we encourage training. We will pay for both online training and hands-on training classes if the tech is interested. We will also sponsor a tech for a year to complete the General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (GM ASEP), where students alternate between the classroom training and hands on work experience.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    There are career paths within our shop if the tech has the drive. For example, some of our staff have started in an entry-level role and have worked their way up to management.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Performance reviews are given as needed.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Safety training is given as needed.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Younger techs work alongside seasoned techs to learn procedures and skills. Seasoned techs are compensated for their mentorship.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    Our team tries to help the local community as much as possible. In the past, we've worked at a local church, assisting with a lunch program. We are donate food and assist financially.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    We partner with the local community college to speak with students about the profession and career opportunities with us.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    We hope to hire more technicians, be servicing more electric vehicles, and continue to grow and serve our community.

  • A Level Technician
    Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000/year

    This compensation is flat rate and may be higher based on training and experience. ASEs are not required, but highly recommended.

  • B Level Technician
    Pay Range: $50,000 - $75,000/year

    This compensation is flat rate and may be higher based on training and experience. ASEs are not required, but highly recommended.

  • Service Advisor
    Pay Range: $60,000 - $90,000/year

    The ideal Service Advisor will have good customer service skills; speak well on the phone and have great overall communication; be able to multitask, and be organized. DealerTrack is our DMS.

Uniforms Offered We provide 11 shifts and pants. There is no laundering fee for the techs. There is a changing room with lockers conveniently in the shop.
