Services we provide ■ Allison Transmission diagnostics, reprogramming, repair, rebuild or replacement. ■ Clarke Fire Pump – Authorized service dealer, factory start-ups, annual testing, scheduled maintenance and repair services. ■ Detroit and Mercedes-Benz truck/bus engine replacement, rebuild or complete overhaul, diagnostics, reprogramming, tune-ups, AC repair, emissions and dynamometer testing. ■ Marine Propulsion – Authorized powercenter for MTU and Volvo Penta parts, service support and replacement engines for pleasure craft and commercial vessels. ■ Mobile Climate Control (MCC) – Authorized dealer, HVAC systems, parts, service and warranty. ■ Onsite engine and transmission troubleshooting and repair services ■ Power generation – Prime, standby, CHP and rental; scheduled maintenance, repairs and emergency service for diesel and natural gas powered generators, including transfer switches and control upgrades, load bank testing and fuel polishing.

    We have an online application form via our Careers page at www.snscareers.com It typically takes 10-15 minutes to complete.

    Yes, we typically start with a short phone screen before setting up an in-person interview.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    In person interviews typically take 30-60 minutes, and entail sitting with management and discussing prior experience, and interest in the position, to find if the candidate is a good fit for our company.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    Pre-Employment background checks, drug screening, and HPE physical is required for new hires.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    An HPE Physical is required for technician positions, which is a standard agility test.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    You will typically get a response within two weeks of an interview.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    Depending on the number of applicants, the process can take 1-3 weeks.

    15 people total, including branch and service.

    7:00am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday) NO WEEKENDS!!!!

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    We supply all necessary uncommon power tools, lifts and engine stands. A personal set of tools will be mandatory for technicians to provide.

    Fridge, microwave, table, chairs, coffee maker

  • How many repair orders do you average per month?

    125

  • What is your parts ordering process?

    Technician will write up the repair order and get that over to our parts team who will order the parts needed to complete the repair. Parts will be received as soon as possible.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    No side work.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    We have all updated wireless shop lifts and a steam room.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Yes, we offer online Detroit Diesel and Allison transmission training we also provide instructor led training at our training center.

    There is always potential for career growth within our company. We will help technicians setup a career path to help them achieve their career goals, and improve their skill set.

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Annual reviews done once a year. Discussion includes performance, productivity, and career goals.

    We provide online training that is required by our company.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Lead techs work side-by-side with junior techs. They will work together through repairs, and lead techs will be available for additional questions.

    We work direct with the local BOCES School in Latham NY

    We are currently looking to expand our team. Business has been good and because of that we want to put talented, motivated technicians around us. We are always looking to increase our customer base, and with that comes an increase in staff.
