About Us

Lithia Motors Inc. started in 1946 in Ashland, OR as a small Chrysler store and has evolved into the 3rd largest dealership group in the nation. With over 200 locations to serve our customers. Armory CJDR has been around for over 100 years and we are one of the highest awarded dealerships within our business center. We have a brand new 30 plus bay shop that is equipped with duplicate machines to increase production such as 2 tire machines and 2 alignment racks, 2 inspection machines etc... In addition to the entire shop being fully air conditioned. We are fortunate to have an amazing service advisor team, 3 of whom have over 15 years’ experience. In addition, we have very little turn over, and the advisors are also tasked with keeping the techs productive with good work. We have a foreman who’s focus is driving entire shop hours in addition to assisting the techs on the more challenging repairs. We have a great team atmosphere and you will never be left to fend for yourself on a repair. We are in the capitol city of NY, Albany. Albany offers a great customer base and we have plenty of work due to the amount of people who work in Albany. Our proximity to other dealers and parts stores allows us to quickly acquire parts when needed.

Hiring Process
  • Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

    We do have an online application and it usually takes less than 20 minutes to complete.

  • Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

    Applicants are phone screened by a recruiter and then an in person or phone interview is scheduled with the service manager.

  • What do your in-person interviews entail?

    One on one question and answer with the service manager and shop foreman if available.

  • Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

    We conduct a background check and a drug screening prior to offer.

  • Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

    There are some assessments that are performed on line.

  • After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

    We try to keep in contact with our candidates and a rejection or offer is usually made within a week.

  • Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

    Depending on the number of applicants it usually takes less than a week.

  • Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

  • Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

    Brand new, fully equipped heated and air conditioned.

  • What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

    44 total in fixed operations.

  • What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

    M-Th 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM F 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sa 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Techs have varying shifts.

  • What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

    All Mopar specialty tools including lap tops and diagnostic software. Technicians are expected to have their own hand and air tools and tool box. Start up tools provided for entry level technicians.

  • What type of break room facility is provided?

    Brand new break room with big screen tv, fridge and microwave. Fixed operations has it's own break room.

    Techs req parts through their own staffed parts counter in shop.

  • What is your policy on side work?

    We do not allow side work to be done on site as it is an insurance issue.

  • Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

    We are a TEAM, from the youngest to the oldest we all have the same goals and work together to achieve that goal.

  • Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

    Shop pays for completed and passed ASEs. Shop pays for MFG training both on site and off premise including : Travel, Lodging, Food, and time at class.

  • Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

    Our mission statement is Growth Powered By People! How far you go depends on you and your drive. We have had many techs become service managers and service managers become fixed operations directors and even general managers!

  • Can you describe your performance review process?

    Performance Reviews are each done at service manager's discretion.

  • What type of safety training is required?

    Monthly safety meetings. On-line safety training at hire. Safety committee on site.

  • Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

    Our senior technicians are afforded the opportunity to mentor new and upcoming techs.

  • How does your shop get involved with the local community?

    All Lithia stores are very involved in community events. Lithia Motors Inc. has great national community involvement including Lithia 4 Kids.

  • Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

    Our local stores and national recruiters are very involved with local High School vocational programs . Lithia Motors Inc. is a preferred employer at all national vocational schools.

  • Where do you see the shop in five years?

    YOY growth has been incredible and projected to continue through the next 5 years. We are also implementing on-line service and sales through our new Driveway division!

  • A Level Technician
    - Pay Range: $66,000 - $85,000/year

    Flat Rate FCA Master Tech. Bonuses paid for Level II certification, NYS inspector license, Sign on - Stay on bonus available at manager's discretion paid in 3 installments: 90 days, 190 days and 1 yr. Relocation available at manager's discretion

  • B Level Technician
    - Pay Range: $50,000 - $65,000/year

    Flat Rate FCA certified and working towards level 3. Experience, FCA certification and other bonuses available at manager's discretion

  • C Level Technician
    - Pay Range: $35,000 - $40,000/year

    Flat Rate Some dealership experience and wanting to be Mopar trained up to Master Bonuses paid for experience and FCA training.

  • Lube Technician
    - Pay Range: $28,000 - $30,000/year

    Hourly Entry level tech able to do L.O.F. and minor maintenance.
